I just noticed that a third show of Frozen is being offered as a mantinee

when the show coincides with a "day at sea".

I doubt we'll want to watch Frozen when we are on the Wonder anyway, but might make the pool less crowded. Also, is this a regular schedule or a new trend?

That's not unusual. There have been many times that a sea day matinee is offered (as long as the sea day coincides with the actual day that show is run).

It's not a usual thing, as in every time a production show is on a sea day, there'll be a matinee. But it does happen.

That happened on our 7 night on the Wonder. I was under the impression that that was always the case with Frozen, b/c it was so popular. It certainly was the case on the cruises leading up to ours. I'm not sure it did anything to clear out other areas of the ship. It really just kept the crowds for the 2 evening shows more manageable. Although there were plenty of people who saw it twice.

It'll probably be the "norm" until people have "seen Frozen enough" and the crowds reduce to more "normal" attendance.
