I just had to put my dog to sleep :(

So sorry to hear of your loss. Pets become so much a part of our lives. I know you'll miss your beloved dog, keep your happy memories close to your heart. I know that my Molly has helped me through my loss of Bob. She was a reason to get up every morning (had to walk & feed her). She's 10 now, but still going strong.
Lots of love- Diana:sad1:

I am so sorry for your loss. I went with my parents to put my childhood dog to sleep in November so I know what a hard thing it is.

:sad1: My neighbor and friend just went through the same thing and every time I see her I see the pain in her heart. We made a card for her and wrote this poem in it that I would like to share with you.

"Beloved Friend, Companion, Pet"

More than a pet
More then a friend
When all else would fail
On you I could always depend.

Know that our pets never really leave us, for now, they watch over us!

I am so very sorry, sending hugs your way:grouphug:. I know what you are going through, we had to put our beloved Golden Retreiver to sleep last year and it was so hard, we had him for 11 years - they are like your children and such a huge part of your family. I hope the vacation will help take your mind off of it a bit. Again, so sorry for your loss!

I told you guys a while back my dog had cancer. His tumor ruptured and he was hemorraging all over the kitchen. My friend went with me and I had to have him put down. I am so upset and I leave for vacation tomorrow. I am happy I was able to say goodbye but he was the last link to my mom she gave him to me for my first anniversary gift. I feel like I lost the last little part I had left of my mom too. I am so upset and crying. I just dont know what to do with myself. I still have not finished packing. My son is asking where the dog is and the other dog in wandering around the house in circles looking for his brother. Figures my husband has night shift in the ER tonight. I am alone and it just plain sucks. Sorry to dump this on you guys but you are like family and I have no one else to tell right now. So send us some happy vibes for our trip tomorrow. I really dont think I could take one more thing this month. 3 funerals, my son broke his nose, my nephew deployed and now this. I really do need a vacation.

Sending pixie dust and prayers your way :grouphug:

Three weeks ago we had to put our beautiful dog Daisy down. She, too, was dying from cancer and I didn't want to see her go
through any more pain. I feel for you and know what you are going through. Hang in there.

I am so sorry for the loss of your dog.:grouphug: It is never easy to lose a pet. They become such an important part of your family and always give you unconditional love.

I'm so sorry you had to experience one of the hardest things in the world. I had to make the decision to put one of my dogs to sleep about 4 years ago and then was with my 17 year old when he died - I should have put him to sleep but just couldn't make that painful decision again and now I have guilt that I couldn't make the decision.

Time does help but as I am reading this thread it has brought it all back and I am crying again. Having a compassionate Vet does make it easier. Mine was wonderful like yours.

(And just a word of advice. If you haven't seen Marly & Me yet then don't. It is just too painful to watch.)

I know exactly how you are feeling Liz. You were there for your friend and that is the important thing. I fully believe our friends will be waiting for us when it is our time to go.

Please enjoy your vacation.

Kim

I know how you feel. I know people say that - but I really do. My grandfather passed away 3 weeks ago. He went in the hospital for hemorrhoid surgery and died in there as they discovered bone cancer. My father and grandmother died last year and we also lost both of our precious fur-babies - two Pomeranians - Baby and Buddy - within the last year too.

Life is so hard. Enjoy your vacation and try to immerse yourself in the fantasy that is Disney.

Love and hugs,
Angie

Oh Liz, we just got back and I am reading your post. It's just terrible, but at least this happened before you went away and not during your vacation. You got to be there and say what you needed to. Hugs to you, Gene, and Ethan.

I'm sorry for your loss. We had a bad year a few years ago in our family with our fur-babies. Within a few months we put down 3 of them due to various illnesses. (my sister and I). We have been without a fur-baby since '06 and I just now have started to feel ready. We are considering a greyhound rescue. Today was our adoption-visit day at the house.
*hugs*

:grouphug: i'm so sorry for your loss! i know i will be absolutely destroyed when i lose my furbaby.
