First of all I had off of work so I could take my children to the Folk Fair today (a festival of different cultures). Dh was supposed to be deer hunting, but surprised us and came home last night as he wanted to watch his kids perform. First time DD performed. First time for him to see DS perform. Very special for me, as DD wore a folk costume that I wore when I was her age and danced. And DS stated that he really liked to do the folk dancing, which warmed my heart! HOw wonderful it was that we got to enjoy it all as a family!!!!!!! (and I managed to get us front row seats!)
Then tonight we went to a concert that was performed by a youth group from Latvia, and it was AWESOME!!!!! We ended up getting front row seats again, and they even had my kids stand up front to show the audience some local kids in folk costume! It was sooooo exciting and a moving concert. I LOVED it!
After the concert, my uncle offered to bring ALL the wine for DH's surprise party. I had posted a thread asking about wines, and since I am footing most of the bill for this, I was concerned about trying to keep cost down. This was a great gift to us, and quite a relief for me!
AND tommorow is my birthday, my mom gave me my gift, but I can't open it up until tommorow. So I am staring this gift in the face, but have to wait!
Came home from the concert and DH has cleaned, did the laundry, did the dishes, put up a happy birthday banner, and made a traditional latvian desert that I LOVE for desert for me for tommorow!!!
What an awesome day!
