I just got the 1BD Suite at the GF!!!

This is the description that came up when I booked the room on-line (when I clicked the description of the room). I copied it directly from the WDW website.

1 BEDROOM SUITE

This suite has a bedroom, a parlor and two bathrooms. The bedroom has two queen-size beds. The parlor has a queen-size sleeper sofa. The suite has a living area, conference table, two balconies, robes, turndown service, two minibars and concierge service. Sleeps 6. Concierge service at the Royal Palm Club and Sugar Loaf includes personalized front desk and guest services, make-up mirror, coffeemaker (upon request), turndown service, and lounge with Continental breakfast, midday snacks, afternoon tea, evening wine and cheese, and evening cordials and dessert. Wine, cordials, and dessert are served at the Royal Palm Club only. Amenities include in-room wall safe, voice mail, phone in bath area, robes, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and mini-bar. Coffeemaker, microwave and refrigerator are available upon request.

So, I have a few more questions...
  1. Since we're doing the suite for the last 3 nights, will the concierge staff help plan anything for the first 4 days of our stay when we're not doing concierge? The only thing I'd really like their help on would be CRT our 1st morning. I don't want to ask them if that is "outside the lines" so to speak.
  2. California Dreaming: thanks for the help on the suite. Would the marina view let me see the fireworks at all? Or just the boats? Are there any sites that show where the suites are in the particular buildings?
  3. Is there a TV in the parlor and the bedroom (2 total)? And does the suite have a VCR or DVD player? The kids love to watch movies at night. We will sleep in the parlor on the queen sofa and let the kids have the 2 queens in the bedroom.
  4. The only balcony is in the bedroom? I was hoping to sit outside while the kids were in bed. Guess I'll just have to go to RPC and have a drink instead! ;)
Thanks to all! And I'm loving the thought of having a microwave too!!!

What Grand Floridian suite would you recommend to me as being the most luxurious and with the best view of the Castle? Ten years ago, DH and another couple and I spent a weekend in a suite in, I believe, Sago Cay. It was a huge 2-br suite with an awesome patio on Seven Seas Lagoon.
Thanks! :wave2:
That is the suite that I was mentioning. It looked so cozy and peaceful with the lounge chairs out on the patio. For the main building, I think the suite coded B2 is the one you want. That's the 2 bedroom with 3 balconies and sleeps 6. Cali-D had a list going of the suite names and locations, so hopefully that will help you out with the view.

Triplefigs,
1. As a courtesy, the pre-planning department will typically extend their services to cover your entire vacation.

4. I'm confused because all the descriptions that I've read for the BN suites is that they have 2 balconies :confused3 .

This is the other floor plan for a 1 bedroom suite, but from the code descriptions, I thought it would be a B4

Maybe Cali-D can shed some light.

According to the description I copied off the WDW website when I booked (see my prior post) it does have 2 balconies. I'm so excited! It will be great having the concierge available. I'm going to try to get a cake for DH's b'day to celebrate. Also our last night we are having a "reunion" with my DD's friend who moved to FL in Jan. Her family, us, and another of my DD's best friends and family will all be eating at 1900 Park Fare for dinner. I'd love to do something special for the girls that night. Maybe the Cinderella's slippers for dessert? (and dog bones for the boys?)

I'll let you know what I hear from the pre-planning staff.

The GF Bakery does a wonderful job with the cakes. You'd probably be better off dealing with them directly for that though. They have many options and it will just save you from going through a middleman (more room for errors that way too). I think this is the correct number, 407 824-2978. They'd also be the ones who can arrange the special desserts after dinner at 1900 Park Faire. They've also added a few new dessets for the Happiest Celebration so be sure to ask about those before making your final decision.

Thanks! Now I'm obsessing over the 1st 4 days of our trip and wondering if I should switch to the Poly GVC. We honeymooned there 10 years ago, so it might be a nice treat. I just don't know if I'll be able to wait on Concierge to the end of the trip-LOL! It's the same price as GF LV, so we could still get 2 rooms.

Thanks for the numbers. the reunion dinner should be a ball. My DD misses her friend so much!

Do you still have the CR tower booked for the first 4 days? With MNSSHP and the close, close proximity to the MK, I think you made a good choice by staying there. Maybe you could check on 12th floor concierge at the CR????

I've actually only got the first 3 days booked. There is no availability at the CR at ALL right now for Dec 2nd. We've got 2 LV rooms booked at the GF for our back-up plan. I'm hoping that someone cancels for that night. I would think the chances are good, but I'm worried it might not. Then we'll switch rooms 3 times and DH won't be happy. I got the CR because of MVMCP, we're doing MK the 1st 2 days, eating at CM our first night, etc. I just don't want to get stuck and wait too long!

Things can change in an instant. I just looked on line and the GF is now showing main building concierge as being available for check-in on December 2nd. That wasn't showing up the other day. The CR is going through renovations and that might be part of the reason they are showing as booked. More rooms may open up as the renovations progress. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Thanks! Actually Main bldg is now available Nov 29-Dec 2 and Dec 4-6. I think we'll be better in the suite with 2 bathrooms, though. I just don't want to switch 3 times. So, I hope that a suite opens up for Dec 2, 2nd choice is CR Tower for Dec 2, 3rd choice is to switch resorts completely and book the 1st 4 days at the Poly.

Thanks for checking! I look every time I get on line. That's how I happened upon the Suite tonight. And now it's gone... courtesy of ME!!!
