D. W. S. What a horrible thing for a family to go through. Disney Withdrawal Syndrome is hitting us hard. My kids are singing the music from Fantasimic. I thought we could fight the powerful effects of D. W. S., and be strong. Now, it's winning us over. Oh well, I'm gonna give in. I'm going to get the video tapes we just took at Disney and play them over and over and over again.

Is there anyone else going through D. W. S.?

I'm sure you're not alone. DWS is a fairly common ailment around these boards! I've definetly experienced it in between trips.

I know that we are no alone....... I usually get it faster & worse than DW, DD has been known to get it as bad as I do, DS joins in (he is a teenager and it wouldn't be right if he showed too much emotion). We hardly leave the park on the last day of our visit & it starts for me-- it is usually so bad that the last thing I do is book our next reservation. Good thing we live in FL & it doesn't cost us both arms & both legs - just an arm & a leg. But hey- we have two of each & are willing to give them up for such a worthy cause.

My "cure for DWS is the DVC. Since we joined I have the comfort of know I will going back atleast within the next year so that helps me. Before that we didnt go yearly.

Will be going through it starting about 6:00pm on 7/2. Right now, we are all doing the packing dance as we leave in about 62 hours. (Not really watching the clock though....). !!

Yes, we have it also. I think we caught it from our 2 y/o dd. Singing those songs, watching those movies all day!!! We had 2 trips planned this year. One in May and one in November. Then we all came down with D.W.S. . Decided we had to go back in July also to get cured. What ever you do don't buy an AP. It just makes it worse!!

I had an AP. It expires on Tuesday. We got in two wonderful trips to Disney. Now I'm planning our Disney cruise for next year. What a wonderful thing. I just hate thinking about waiting another year for the magic :(

The only known treatment for DWS is to have another trip in the works. Watching the countdown helps with the symptoms--a little!

We have been home 3 weeks and I'm dying to go back. We had the most perfect vacation and were ready to go again before we even got home. To make it even worse, my parents and youngest sister are there right now! We've decided to try for another trip in November. I sure hope we can pull it together!

We've got it really bad here, too. It must be very highly contagious!

We just came back from going out to dinner tonight to celebrate the fact that we've passed the half-way point between trips! We were considering planning a quick trip in early September, but have decided to add another day to our December trip instead, and to book an Illuminations Cruise while we're there.

I'll just have to suffer through this for slightly less than six months. However, we're buying AP's before we go, and that will guarantee that I get at least two trips in 2004!

I was just thinking about how sad I still am to be back in the real world:( We have been back a little less than a week-I have already started my tentative countdown for next year). I agree with 4greatboys--when we got back last year after our first visit ever to the World we joined DVC. It does help a little to know we will be going back at least once a year(I wished we lived closer so we could go more often). It is still too painful to listen to the Illuminations CD we bought though:( Maybe by this weekend...

I'm at the halfway mark and still miss WDW. We got back 5 mos ago and leave to go back in 6 mos. It does help to have a count down counter!

Getting ready for our sixth trip, but first in 5 years. So I got over DWS by taking some other great vacations. But after all this time away, I think it will hit hard again when we get back.

One year ago today, I returned to work form my last Disney trip, having had DWS for a few days already. I now have had the epidemic for over a year, and will not have a cure (fix) for another 14 months. :( Then, I am sure, it will start all over again.

I for one can not take D.W.S. anymore-we are moving to Orlando next spring! :Pinkbounc

It can hit hard can't it? {{{{HUGS}}}} to you and your family!

I tried really, really hard to get DH to okay a quick summer trip. It was a no-go. We are 4 1/2 months since our last trip and over 100 days to our next. I love DIS, but sometimes it makes it better, sometimes it makes it worse!

I had it so bad during our last trip last summer, that I made myself miserable the last day at the world. Then while we were still there, I called up CRO & made ressies for our next trip. After DWS for almost 1 year, our next trip is FINALLY almost here. We're leaving on July 4th. I'm already getting DWS and we're not even there yet. Its a terrible feeling & nothing helps me. Watching videos and looking at our photos just makes it worse for me. I wish there was a cure...........

I have it! :( We just got back last Friday! I know we have another trip next year but we have made 5 trips in 18 months and we aren't going this Christmas and it makes me sad! :(

but next time we go back I'll be offically out of high school! EEEEE!! :bounce: :bounce:
