We are planing our trip for next February with my in laws! They are super excited to see our girls at disney and will be great with them. If she could my MIL would do BBB with them! Lol

We are staying at bonnet creek for a week because my in laws have intrawest and can stay there too. I tried talking them into staying at disney but no luck.

This is my dilemma. After staying onsite this year at the poly I loved the convenience of it all! So we are thinking of one week at bonnet creek and three nights at the poly or CR? Which would be best? And are we right in adding it at the end of our trip vs the beginning?

We loved the poly and my girls loved seeing the castle from the pool so will they like the cr too? Hoping discounts will come out for that time too!

I totally understand where you're coming from. Our very first trip (back in the 90's) was offsite (well downtown Disney) and I swore never again and so far, I've kept true to my words. I know how my girls are, so my opinion, if you're going to try and tack on a few nights onsite, I would do it at the end and end your trip with a bang (so to speak). I think if you do it in the beginning, you'll be constantly comparing and wishing you were back onsite. As for the Poly or CR, I don't think you can go wrong with either. Although I haven't stayed at either yet, I would probably go with the Poly - the look of CR does nothing for us, my girls especially. My youngest DD turns sweet 16 next year and she's already told me that's what she wants as her present, a week's stay at the Poly :). Good Luck!

If it were me, I'd end the trip at a Disney resort. As far as Poly vs CR.....that's a tough one as we LOVE the Poly and I tend to lean toward that, but we also like trying different resorts. With that said, we are giving the CR a try in December. It is hard trying a different resort when you find one that you feel is "home", but you also won't know if there is another resort to your liking unless you give others a try. If you think you will miss the Poly too much, I'd go back there; otherwise, I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Have you considered the GF? We've stayed there and it is also a gorgeous resort. Good luck with your decision, although I do know how hard it is choosing.

Thanks. I wish my DH loved it as much as we do! He loves it when there but he isn't a guy to go multiple times a year and me and our girls would go every chance we get! Lol.

When our youngest is older he has agreed to a week stay at the poly or cr so for now I have to have to settle for a few nights here and there.

I have always wanted to stay at the cr but I don't know that my girls would like the theming of it. I would stay AKL if it was on the monorail. Decisions decisions.

I have stayed at the CR and loved it. The ease of being able to get on an elevator and get to all the good stuff without having to go outside is awesome. The view can't be beat anywhere. The rooms are very comfortable and gave me a warm feeling. The poly is pretty and I intend to give it a try one day, but I'm afraid I'll be wishing I had booked the CR. Like others have said I don't think you can go wrong with either.

what about the WL? we are staying there for the first time this summer (5 nights there/5 at GF)...and whenever i tell people, they go on and on about how awesome it is at WL!! just a boat ride away from MK as well!

You really can't go wrong with either resort. When we were kids, my mom LOVED the Poly so we stayed there quite a bit. But we did stay also at the CR which was a favorite of mine and my sisters. We were SOOOOO excited by the train coming through the hotel and all the pool, lake activities and the view of the castle really is so much better than from the Poly. Watching the fireworks from the viewing deck is amazing and sitting on the dock for the water parade was sooooo much fun.

So think about your kids and which they would like.....BOTH will be amazing but if you have tried the Poly and are only doing three days or so, might be worth it to try the CR so when you do go for a longer onsite stay, you'll know which one you prefer.

I'll go along with this post... Having stayed at CR and Poly, their room rates have gotten out of hand, WL, a deluxe but with a good price and access to the MK via a boat is an ideal way to travel ( seems the monorails are having too many issues) .... We've seen the hordes of people lining up for the monorails at MK closing and preferred going to our ferry to return to the WL

I'd check it out and give it some thought, WL will blow you away....

I agree that the theming at the CR isn't the most appealing (at least not to me), but after researching the resort, it really does seem like a great resort overall. To me, it doesn't compare to the Poly theme/decor wise, but the rooms do look great and I love visiting there. Maybe have your girls look at pics of the CR and see what they think.

We prefer CR over Poly, but tons of people adore it. Now that they are refurbing, we may try it the next time we can't get a reservation at our fave - the Swolphin! We are minimal people though and highly prefer the design of the CR over the Poly, also I stayed there (CR) for SO many trips as a child until the Dolphin opened so maybe its just homey for me at those 2 places?

I just booked a garden wing room at CR for less than the price I was quoted at WL with summer room only discounts! For the extra room it is a no brainer!

You think poly is better than contemporary?

I think it's really just a matter of personal preference. We love the Poly and it's tropical gardens. The CR is one big, tower for the most part... and although the rooms themselves look nice, my family just prefers the theming at the Poly, and the views of the castle across the lagoon. It just feels more relaxing to me than the CR, but then that's what I'm looking for.

As far as convenience, I personally think they are even (CR has a slight edge to the MK, Poly has a slight edge to Epcot), so I don't think you can go wrong here. I would just pick based on which one appeals to you the most for this trip.

I would say Poly, just because the theming is so much more fun and your girls would probably like it a lot. CR is more minimal and I feel like it's more mature, but that's just me.

Definitely book the extra days at the end of your trip, for reasons mentioned by a previous poster. Seems like it would just be more fun that way.

We've stayed at BLT (CR) and WL, and VWL. We haven't stayed at the Poly, but do go there frequently to dine. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. The CR is close enough to walk to MK, that is a unique experience. And the theme park view is amazing. I agree, the theming at the Poly and WL are more interesting and their ground are really nice, beautiful pools and landscaping.
