My family and I were planning to take a Disneyland trip mid July 2012. From everything I'd read, it seemed like by then Carsland and all the new attractions should be up and running. Now, I'm hearing rumors on other Disney sites that construction is falling behind and it might not open until late July or even August.

I realize that it's impossible to predict exactly when it will open. And Disney giving a projected opening date, still doesn't mean it's going to happen on time. But this is so frustrating.
We need to make plans because my husband as to take time off from work, and I just don't know when to plan our trip. :confused3 I'm not sure now if I should still book it for mid July? Anyone else planning to go then? Anyone have any "inside information" about the opening date?

I'm wondering if I should skip the whole Carsland opening guessing game, skip the hassle and crowds, and just go someplace else for our family trip... :sad2:

I've been worrying about this too. DBF wanted to go for his 21st birthday in late July, but I feel like that may be pushing it?? :confused3 I was thinking we could push it until early August but I prefer to do it closer to his birthday but also to see Carsland. We do seem to go a lot and we would be able to go again in October or November but I just can't wait so long!! :goodvibes I wouldn't be able to restrain myself from whipping out my AP and going over to sneak a peak at the new additions :rolleyes1 BUT, DBF would be pretty upset at me!! :lmao:

We just schedule and live with it, only changed once due to a change in an attraction being on line and never second guess causes to much anxiety for the family.

I don't think its Carsland that is getting pushed back. All reports is that its on target for a June opening. It's the rest of DCA (Buena Vista street) that is rumored to be delayed until possibly July or August. At least that's the rumors as I've heard them.

October! Birthday, Halloween, well past any possible summer opening delays, mini-meets....nothing more to be said. :thumbsup2

As others have said it is not Cars Land but Buena Vista Street according to rumors. And in case anyone says "well BVS is not that big a deal" I would reply from what I saw at the D23 Expo on BVS it will be a big deal - maybe a bigger deal than CL itself - because it will set the mood for the park like Main Street does at DL.

My two cents is for anyone who can change their travel dates easily then a July trip is fine. For those who want to see CL and BVS and cannot change their dates go as late in the summer as possible - mid-to-late August if you can.

Thanks, everyone. Guess we just need to pick a date, stick with it and hope for the best.

We are looking to go end of July into the first week of Aug. That is the last possible week we can go before school starts. We are getting APs again this summer and always get in an "extra trip" between summers, so if we miss it that trip, we'll catch it the next. We are just planning for it and then will hope for the best.
