DH, DD and I adopted two rescue dogs back in July. Here is a picture of Max Widget. When we adopted him, he was so frail and thin and had almost no hair. He had been found on the street and was covered in fleas. This is him this week while my DH was tickling him. He is a wonderful dog. aw:

My cat , my current dog, and my previous dog have all been rescues (dogs from the pound, cat from the parking lot of the restaurant where I celebrated my birthday over 17 years ago!).

Our current dog was an incredibly funny-looking puppy and he remains a funny-looking adult dog (age 13) with an outstanding personality. He is the only dog I've ever had who will absolutely not leave the yard if I let him out unsupervised (we are on an acre of woods on a cul-de-sac, so it's very safe to let him out). DH and I say he knows he's got a great life and that's why he won't wander!
