I hope the Park Reservation system stays post COVID!

If you're on these message boards, odds are you're like me. I love the challenge of laying out the perfect FP day, planning meals, and figuring when we'll hop from one park to another. What will it look like when all of this is behind us? Personally, I love the park reservation idea and hope it stays. Just as Disney can use the FP to move crowds from one area of the park to another, they can do the same to get more people out of crowded parks and into less crowded parks by managing access to the parks. Even more so if they allow park hopping like they would finding a new ride FP while in the park. At MK and want to head over to HS? Check to see of HS has park availability and then make the reservation. Or even plan the day out well in advance. MK from 8-12... HS from 1 to 9

It would be easy to control too. If you scheduled MK until noon, any ride you tried tapping your band on to gain access to would be denied if you tried after your "exit" time. I'd even go as far as allowing people to enter parks for dining reservations, but again locking them out from anything else unless they had a park admission

Maybe it's me... but adding another level of planning just makes the lead up all that more exciting.

If they offered a discounted ticket requiring a park reservation, maybe. I wouldn't buy it but wouldn't mind if they added the option. Limiting my ability to be spontaneous when I want is not something I am going to openly ask for at the same price.

Have to disagree. Disney already has a way to move crowds around, the parks already have specific park capacities, adding MORE things to schedule and plan for is not a good thing. Nothing is stopping you from planning stuff as far in advance as you like. Want to plan your 2025 trip right now, go ahead. But having to book park reservations after the nonsense is over in perpetuity, no thanks.

Like you, I'm a real planner...down to the minute. However, on the off chance that I changed my mind, I wouldn't want to be so locked in. That actually might be too much for me.

To me, I think flexibility is more important than the most detailed plan. I'm a planner too (spreadsheets, often times backup ADRs, etc) but Ive always thought the two biggest keys to success is having a good, detailed plan of attack to zig when everyone else zags AND then having the ability to throw that plan out of the window on a moments notice and start from scratch and have the day not be lost.

Epcot always comes to mind for me...Lets say you arrive on a rainy day and lightening shuts down Test Track and Soarin in down to once screen for example...I want to be able to ditch my Epcot plans and do something else.
