I highly recommend a meat slicer to save $$$

We cook turkey, chicken breast, roast beef, pork for 'lunchmeat'. I have a slicer but my DH actually prefers to have the meat hand shredded. SO even if you don't have an electric slicer you can surely buy meat for sandwiches.

Last week b/s chicken breast was $1.49 lb. - I cooked and shredded the entire 10 lbs then put it into freezer bags to pull out later for sandwiches, salads, etc.

My mom filleted her hand nicely with a mandolin. Couldn't be stitched because it took it off in layers. Once she left the ER she went right home and threw it away.

I did this with a blender (don't ask), and cut away all of the meaty part of my fingertip. Did she have to have it packed with stuff that hardened, stopping the blood from spurting, like me? :scared1:

My grandfather bought one for my grandmother on their anniversary, and it didn't go over well. :lmao:

And am I the only one thinking of Kramer from Seinfeld? The episode where he got one and Elaine used it to slice off part of the heel on her shoe because it was uneven! Then they sliced some meat to slide under a door to a cat trapped in an apartment.
