I don't know first hand about this but i did hear yhis on board twice, they are changing the 4 night cruise so you have the option of going to Freeport or spend a 2nd day at castaway cay they are not going to do the day at sea any more. One couple we spoke with said they booked a 4 night with 2castaway cay days i want to say they booked for may. I am hopeing this is true, because that would be great.

I hope Not. We love the day at sea. On a 4 night cruise spending two days at Castaway is a bit much and we have no desire to go to Freeport. We just booked a 3 night land/ 4 night cruise to surprise our daughter next Christmas. It will be a New Years' cruise. If they take away the day at sea we will cancel! I will have to keep track of this one. Hopefully it is just another rumor. Kathy

This is just a rumor. In fact it may have been started via the fact that the Disney Vacation Club Member only cruise will be making two stops at Castaway Cay, on the four day that they have chartered. That is sailing February 2.

Other than that, there are no plans to do so at this point.

When we were at Castaway Cay in December we spoke with a CM from Trinidad... can't remember his name... nice guy...

Anyways... he said that Disney would not ever make a habit of doing 2 days at CC because then we would... and i quote... "lose the magic"!!!

The reason castaway Cay is so so cool is because it is such a short time there and there is not time to get bored or do everything...

Just sharing...

I would HATE to see them take away the day at sea. Hasn't anyone ever noticed how when the ship is in port the toilets don't seem to work quite as well and there can be an odd smell onboard? Sometimes even the air conditioning doesn't work as well in the staterooms when in port. But it's the toilet issue that bothers me. Plus, would they cut back on activities and entertainment onboard, expecting everyone to spend all their time on the island for two days? Would guests have to eat the same Cookies Barbecue two days in a row? And think about how sunburned a lot of people would get!

No - Two days at CC may be a dream come true for many, and it is okay for the occasional "special" cruise. But I would quickly get bored with that. The day at sea is the only time I feel like I am "cruising" at all, since all travel is pretty much done overnight. If they ever do cut out the day at sea, I'll just stick with the 3-day and 7-day itineraries.

I would hope it's not true. I'm one of those rare people who thinks the day at sea is the highlight of the cruise, not Castaway Cay (yes, it's nice, but I live year-round at the beach, although it's not quite as tropical). I'd hate to lose that day!
