Hello . I don't know if this was asked before but : I heard A rumor that if you sit through a Disney Vacation Club meeting , you would get free fastpasses . Is this true ?

They gave us free fastpasses to use for sitting through the presentation. We were going to sit through it anyways so it was a nice perk.

But if the only reason your going to the Presentation is for the fast passes and you have no interest in DVC then I would skip it and just use the fastpasses in the Park since those are Free to those with theme park admission. Then you don't have to spend 90 minutes listening to a sales pitch to get the passes.

But DVC is a great value and we were going to buy into DVC but when we got home realized we were going to be moving to Orlando in a year or two and wouldn't get full value from it. We should have bought in though we could have used the points for other destinations. But at the time it was the right choice.

Fastpasses are free anyway so I wouldn't sit through a DVC presentation to get them.

Oh ok . I thought they gave out those year of a million dreams necklace passes for the best rides . Well I guess I will skip it . Thanks .

They give each person in your party a card to put in the fast pass machine and it spits out a fast pass that is for the current time. Each person in your party (including children) gets one and each card can be used 4 times. The are good for two or three days.
We did it last year because we were interested in learning more about the DVC. The younger kids stayed in the kid's club and played while dh and oldest dd and I went through the presentation.
The fast passes were a nice bonus and different than the fast pass in the park

Thanks for clarifying that the fastpasses given during the presentation are different than the ones you use with your card in the Parks. It may be something to look into on our next trip since I'm extremely interested in DVC.

About how long did the presentation last?

We got the speed version since we had 11:30 reservations at Brown Derby. The van picked us up at Epcot at 10:00. We just let our guide know that we had lunch reservations, and she did her best to tell you everything quickly. A lot of it depends on how many questions you ask. We ended up being about 15 minutes late for our lunch, but it wasn't a problem. One nice thing that we got, besides the fast passes, were gift cards for $100. When we went about 3 weeks ago, if you went to the presentation between 10 and 2, they gave you the gift cards. We weren't supposed to get the fast passes too, but when we asked about them (the DVC rep at the hotel told us to ask), they gave those to us too.

We ended up buying DVC once we got back to California and spoke with the DVC people at Disneyland. It was helpful to have seen what we were buying in Florida beforehand.

We missed out on the ice cream, probably because we were in such a hurry to make lunch. We didn't even know about it until another DVC rep asked us what flavor we got. I hope it was good!

We attended the presentation last July and we were there for about 4 hours. We did buy however which held things up a good bit(delay's in paperwork being produced etc). The presentation itself is really nice & could be over in 90 mins easy.:) Plus, plenty of complimentary drinks & yummy biscuits are provided throughout.
We got the fast passes for everyone in our party but we were worried that the FP machines would be closed by the time we got to Animal Kingdom late that afternoon and we were flying home the next day so couldn't use them. Our guide then went away & came back with 6 x $15 gift cards for us as well which I thought was a really nice thing to do.
We gave the fast pass cards to a random family in DTD the next morning before heading to the airport and really made their day which was a nice way to end our trip.:cutie:

Oh and we got the ice cream...............:thumbsup2

We got something better when we went to a presentation 2 years ago....a $50 gift card! We enjoyed our tour and were almost talked into it and then realized, oh yeah, we have no $$$$!!!!
