I Heard a Funny Story About.."The Night Before Grand Opening at BCV"!

I called MS on Monday, July 1st. I was talking to a very nice CM and she told me a funny story...
I think the story went that one/or more? CMs were in and around BCV on the night before the "Grand Opening". They saw some people in the lobby area with sleeping bags and went over to check out what was up. They inquired what this group of people (not sure how many) were doing there/sleeping bags and all. They said they were going to be the first to spend the night in their new home or something like that! I guess the CM(s) said they couldn't stay in the lobby area of the hotel, etc...and...they told the CM's that there was no room outside...on the lounges. ...OK...so the CM(s) go outside and see several people outside on the pool? lounges all tucked in for the night!
Isn't that too wacky?!? I said to the CM, "please tell me that they were not DVC members"...LOL, but I think they were!! I'm anxious to get to BCV, but, you know? We were having a good laugh. Do you think any are DIS people? LOL... Anyway, I think it was good comic relief for the CMs--not sure if it's a true story!

Darn! Why didn't I think of doing that? And I'm a DVC member (but don't worry, I wouldn't tell!). But I've gotta admit, it sounds like fun!

We filmed the second part of the interview we did on Sunday, June 30th, right before the Grand Opening. Something that I thought was interesting was that you would think the day before an opening of a new resort there would be all these people running around getting last minute things ready (kinda like me up until 9am editing video). But, not a soul was around. The resort was ready, and they knew it!! Even though everything was blocked off, people were scaling baracades to get a look at the place (it was drawing quite a bit of attention). I was asked by the CM who was assisting us (but had to leave on other business)that if I saw anyone, that I should ask them to leave. First thing I thought was that with my luck it would be a DIS'er, and I'd see a post the next day saying "PETE KICKED ME OUT OF BCV" !!!

I think I'm going to take a couple of nights there next week just to feel it out, but I can tell you it is GORGEOUS!!!! I'm very partial to OKW (where we own), but this is giving it a run for the money!

Pete! You know, it's a real pleasure to see you posting. I know you are very busy and we really appreciate all the hard work you do, but it sure is nice to hear from you again.

Must be something about the decor -- I love OKW but there is something "calling" me with the BCV. Must appeal to the same kind of taste. I'd love to hear your reaction once you actually get to stay at the resort.
