one time my ex told me he was going to take my older dd (then age 6) to his house for a few days. after he picked her up, he called my answering machine and said "I'm going out of state, I won't be near a phone and if you need me, call my lawyer." he wa gone for 5 days.

BR, I know this has nothing to do with anything like that. They aren't expected until tomorrow afternoon.
He called me yesterday to tell me she survived her first rafting trip, and he probably hasn't thought about doing it again tonight.
I have no doubts at all that everyone will be back tomorrow as planned, I'm just being a worried mom.
