I know that the people who book an excursion through Disney get to leave the ship on the first tender, which begins (I think) around 7:30 am.

I've booked directly with Capt. Marvin's & they told me to be at their office no later than 8am. Will I make it?

Uh-oh, I'm starting to think I made a mistake!

I think you will pushing it and you'll be really stressed out. We booked Captain Marvin's on our own for a RCCL cruise and had a great time. However, we booked the 11:00 (11:30 ?) trip and had plenty of time to get there and get back to the ship. I cannot speak for the Disney tender, but only allowing yourself a half hour is, in my opinion, cutting it too close.

Captain Marvin's office is about a 5 - 10 min walk from where the tender dropped us off for RCCL. If that is the same case with Disney, you will only have 20 - 25 min to get everyone boarded on the tender, get the tender to the island and then make to their office. We had priority tender passes on our trip, but we still had to wait for the tender to fill up then leave. I think the 7:30 time is the time they start boarding, not the actual departure time.

Hopefully, someone with Disney experience will see your post and have a better estimate of the time needed.

Enjoy your cruise. :flower:

we didn't make it! there's a line once you get to capt marvins. to check in i recall. and by the time we got to their office/store, and had to get in line to "register", we've missed our excursion. we were booked on the shorter one, (since we had DDs 2 & 4) they told us that our excursion had just left! which was true, cuz i did recall seeing a bus outside, just about to leave, as we finally found the store/office. and it took us a while to figure out that we were heading the right direction to the office/store.

anyways, the lady was nice, she told us we could go on the next bus, which was leaving in like half an hour or so. but that was the longer trip, with 2 stops of snorkeling, i think, that we didn't want in the first place cuz we thought the boys might get too tired. but it turned out ok. and we didn't even have to pay the extra difference becuz of the longer trip. (she made it sound like we were getting a bargain! and in actuality, we were!)

so it all turned out ok at the end! i think if we knew where we were headed, it would've been ok. was we were a bit confused...even w/their map & location, etc. you just have to keep on walking that way...and you'd be there! i think our mistake was walking half way, thinking we're headed the wrong way...cuz we haven't seen the office/store yet, etc. oh well! :flower:

do you know if Captain Marvin's would be covered under trip insurance or if they have a refund policy. I'm nervous about booking StingRay City with them because what if the boat is late and we don't make our excursion at all? I only say this cause I went on Carnival cruises one year and we missed our excursion because of the boat being late.
Just wondering... :flower:

I called Capt Marvin's directly and asked them a similar question last week. I spoke to Ruth, who said that they will just put you on the later excursion if the boat docks late for some reason.

That may not work for alot of people, so you may want to check the other Stingray excursions to see what their policies are.

No, insurance will not cover it if the boat is late. However, Disney will cover it IF you book it through them.
