I have tiny, sore bumps

Ok, I thought I bought generic Benadryl pills at Target, but after I got home I see they're Generic for Benadryl Allergy Ultratab. I guess it doesn't really matter, though I've never had it before.

I hope it helps. It says take one or two. I only took one, because Benadryl tends to knock me out, but it looks like the rash is spreading, so I might take another.

Nevermind - I see it's the same as regular old benadryl.

Had you eaten a mango in the previous 12-24 hours, and touched the mango skin to your face? A few weeks ago I ate a mango, and instead of peeling it, I sliced it with the skin on and then ate it off the skin. That night I had what you are describing. It started out feeling like really chapped lips, but then the bumps appeared and it looked really weird! It took at least 4 days to fully go away, too. I'll never do that again!!! The dermatologist said that I can still eat mango, but stay away from the skin--it is related to poison ivy (or oak?)

Ooh Ooh - you just solved a huge mystery at our house. DD17 is very allergic to poison ivy, ate a mango (with skin on it) a few months ago, and got a horrid face rash. She'd never had a reaction to mango before, but this was the first fresh one she had ever tried. Her reaction was quite severe though, so we most likely will not try a skinless mango just to check, LOL!

Any time someone talks about a rash near their mouth, the first thing I think of is impetigo.

I'm thinking allergy. I'm allergic to lanolin, which is how I found out that lanolin is in some lotions, lip balms, lipsticks and lip gloss. :crazy2: The same thing happened to me.

Another thought....have you been on antibiotics recently? DH erupted into a rash very suddenly about 4 days after finishing a Z-pack. Dr. said it was a systemic reaction to the drugs. :confused3

Anyway, our cure all for rashes/bites/bumps/burns/itches/everything here is Burts Bees Rescue Ointment. Even if they don't go away when you put it on, they will feel better.

Nope, no antibiotics.

I'll have to pick some of the ointment up next time I see it.

Thanks!
