I have the dreaded Pig Flu :(

Thanks hun. :)

I am sure he hasn't got it but even if he has then I read somewhere that thousands of people will have it without even knowing.

yep drink plenty of fluids and take parocetomel.. as long as his temp isnt over 38 then just presume its a summer flu ...( my docs are pretty useless they didnt come out to my dd3 when she was porly last week )..if his temp increases over the weekend then i've got to ring NHS Direct .
hope your hubby starts to feel better soon Claire x

Thanks for the update. I guessed that would be the response.

I hope your hubby & children start to feel better soon too.

Thanks everyone. I had the weirdest nights sleep ever. I dreamt I went to a Paul McCartney concert :confused3

Love it, very funny, lol, :rotfl: Truer word never spoken.

Nix, hope you recover soon, whereabouts in Middlesbrough are you? I am in Marton.[/QUOTE

I live in the centre of town near the Uni :)

Hope you feel better soon. When i am ill I always watch re-runs of my fav programmes i.e. 'pride and prejudice' and 'Friends'

i have a sore throat so i'm taking precautions...I have sent DH out to get some cold wine to douse it with :lmao:

We aren't getting the tamiflu thingie in our area until late august apparently.

Hope you feel better soon Nix...take it easy and keep those fluid's up!

Edit: And on talking about your Pig-Flu...I have reached 1600 posts :)

my ds jack whos 6 is off school with it came down with it 2 days ago, all a bit worried now incase izzy gets it .

:hug::hug:
i rang the docs, he said i could have mild piggy flu, but he also said as the weather has changed from scorching hot to windy and wet, alot of people will have viruses from the change in the weather..so it could be just a heavy cold which will wear off after 7-10 days, he suggested taking lemsip or sinutab and plenty of fluids.. hope this helps someone- i'm still no wiser :lmao:

I hope you are all feeling a bit better. I must say that I am completely confused by the advice that is being given, I have just logged on to the NHS website that they were all talking about on the news to try and see what the symptoms are and diagnose online and it says that the page has been deleted :scared1: so that is helpful ;)

I'm a bit worried as DS who is 2 has got what I think/hope is a summer cold, he is very snotty, and has no appetite, I can't tell if he is tired or not as he loves his sleep in general. It's not like him not to want to eat though and his temp has been ok (I have been sticking the Braun Thermo thingy in his ear at every chance! :rotfl:) We have all had a sore throat, runny nose etc this week though so hoping that it could just be a summer cold that will clear up soon, or maybe a mild form of the piggy flu. If he hasn't improved by Monday then I think I will have to speak to someone about him.

It's all very worrying for the little uns.

If it helps, my symptoms were/are:

High temperature
Aching joints
Aversion to light
Bad stomach
Cough
Feeling v.v.v tired.

My DS (15 months has been the same this week. Loss of appetite, runny nose and feeling very warm but no temperature. We now have hand, foot and mouth at nursery. The problem is with alot of the illness the symptoms are very similar to swine flu!

That's the trouble isn't it, he has been warm but not officially had a temperature, he has had Calpol this afternoon and really perked up so I guess that we will just keep and eye on him.

Thanks for the list of symptoms Nix. :)
