I have the Christmas at DLR bug!!!

We have never been to DLR at Christmas. And I really, really, really want to go! We decided that this year was out. We took the kids to WDW in April for their bdays (ages 6 and 8) and we are taking a trip to Cancun at the end of October. Now I suddenly have this drive to do DLR at Thanksgiving. DH and I have talked about it, and both would LOVE it, but tell ourselves that it's really not practical for this year. We can only do so many vacations in a year.

But I can't get it out of my head!!! I'm spending everyday day dreaming about going and sitting here reading the Christmastime super thread doesn't help.

It's good that you're reading the super thread for tips/strategies because Christmas at DLR is so very crowded that you'll need all the expertise you can get.

Yay! I'm so glad you've been reading the Superthread...and that you've been bitten by the bug! It is definitely a bug, that's for sure! And once you've actually been there during the holidays, you may find yourself scheming and plotting ways to get back during that time every year. It's very addictive!

I don't know if you've noticed, but in the Superthread we've started doing a different photo 'theme' for the weekly Monday countdown to the official season start date - just to kill time in between questions, breaking news and bits of info that we get on the season, to help build anticipation and to show people different things they may otherwise overlook. The photo themes for each week will spotlight specific areas of interest around DLR during the Christmas season. Last week's theme was Santa's Reindeer Round-Up. This week the theme is Main Street and all that it has to offer (there were lots of photos posted yesterday, and there will be more during the week). Everyone who has any photos to share within that theme will hopefully post them.

I will pick a new theme each week and showcase it on Monday, so stay tuned!! This will be going on all the way up to November 14, when the holiday season officially begins!

I can totally understand the urge to high-tail it to DLR this year, especially over Thanksgiving (when even the hotels and DTD will be in the spirit), even when it's not practical. I hope you are somehow able to pull it off! If not, I can only assume that the season will be bigger and better when all the work in DCA is finished.
