I have stayed at all DVC resorts.

After my stay at AKV concierge studio on Jan 25-27 I have stayed at all DVC resorts. My Favorites in order are BWV, OKW, SSR, HHI, AKV, BCV, VWL, and VB. It was hard to rank them as they are all great. Each resort has it's own features that makes it best, but one has to choose....
Now to get that Hawaii resort finished!

So please tell me - how was AKV concierge? I have 2 nights booked in a concierge studio for next January and am just curious what you thought.

I have stayed in all of the WDW DVCs except SSR and AKV - but will check off AKV next year now that I own points there. I love them all as well. BWV is still our favorite due to the location and the Boardwalk view rooms.

We just have BCV's to go and then we've accomplished the same goal. I wish I could say that we have a ressie date in mind, but we don't. Our upcoming trip in Aug will be at AKV's concierge level and we can't wait!!! This past Nov. we stayed in a 2bdrm villa @ AKV's and LOVED it!
So far our favorites would go as follows: OKW, AKV, BWV, VWL, SSR, HHI, & VB. I agree that it is very difficult to list them in order as favorites - they are all GREAT in their own way!

but don't like to fly - so the one in Ca and Hawaii - probably won't happen in the future.

my favorite kepts changing - OKW, VWl, AKV - are all favorite
bcv is up there too

SSR is very nice.

BWV definitely action packed.

HHI - escape

vb - ocean views.

hey just noticed there are now 8 DVC resorts - soon to be 10, then 11.

when I started going to Disney - there were 2 resorts - fw opened and then golf inn (now SOG).

i'm decidedly envious
of the ones we've stayed at, these are our faves (in order of preference):
1-BWV, 2-SSR, 3/4-BCV & OKW are tied
~ would like to try AKV, as we've stayed at the lodge & enjoyed it.
~ i'm still iffy on VWL. it looks beautiful (we've stayed at WL), but not sure if we would find it too dark & far away. i think we need to try staying there 2-3 nights of a trip just to see for ourselves
~ both VB & HH sound & look beautiful. would love to hear what there is to do there (sans children), for people who live near a beach & don't golf, tho.

we like to try out a resort for ourselves as opinions can differ so widely, & what one person hates, might be the exact thing we love, and visa-versa (a good example is the liveliness & lack of a CS at the BWVs ~ both disturb some, yet those are two reasons we love it so much. and many love BCV for the pool, which we don't really care for (we vastly prefer the very nice, quiet pool in our own yard) ).

imho, all the DVC resorts we've visited are great, just varying degrees of "greatness" depending upon presonal preferences

We've stayed at five, soon to be seven.
Still need to plan an OKW someday.

My list is 1. VWL, 2. BWV, 3. VB, 4. AKV, 5. BCV.
Will be interesting to see where HH and SSR fall after our June trip.

We have also! We own at four and I'm considering a small add at a fifth.

In order, our faves = BWV, HHI, VB, AKV, SSR, BCV, VWL, OKW. I may sell BCV to replace with AKV just to get a day or two of concierge. Or maybe VB. Ouch...I don't know if I can give up any points!

own at OKW, BWV and VWL - want CRV - will probably let go on one of the contracts on OKW. sad2: ) have 350 points - so leaving go of my 190 contract and replacing it with what ever Disney is having a special on at CRV - should work (okay will lose money - but I get CRV).

We have a long way to go, having only stayed at SSR. We do have a AKV reservation in April and going to VB in May.

We have a BCV reservation in July, but I think we are going to let that one go. We really do love staying at SSR. We will hit Hawaii when it opens and CGV on the same trip, once they both are open.

Great thread. Thanks for everyone's lists. I'm a DVC wanna-be. Well, actually in ROFR currently. I was just interested in an observation. I was torn between buying at BCV vs BWV. I know both are great and such but, why did most experienced DVC peeps rank BWV higher?

I plan on trying out both myself, so don't worry about being "politically correct".

I'm in the process of buying BWV myself. I stayed there this December and loved it.

Along with a great atmosphere, I love that you can walk to Epcot and MGM. Those are my favorite parks.

We stayed in a savanah view concierge room just so we could do both the sunrise and sunset safaris. The food offering were really good but after two days they get old. The sixth floor room locations are really nice anf the balony is hugh. I think I would like a pool view room better. I liked the sunset safari best, our meal at Jikos was fabulous. I certainly would not hesitate to book another concierge room.

How long did it take you to stay at all of the DVC resorts?

Well, we joined in 1995 and had stayed at all DVC resorts when SSR opened. Did not stay at SSR until our NYE trip to sTart off 2008. We really enjoyed that trip to SSR. The NYE party was free and super. Anyway our only grandchild, a six month old granddaughter was with us and that may have had something to do with my high regard for SSR. Three weeks later our stay at AKV (Jan. 25-27) completed all DVC resorts again. We certainly will be visiting any other DVC resorts after they open. How about one in Tokyo?
