I've seen people mention it before...It is turning the words red and underlining them making it a link to some other site.

Anyone know how I can get rid of this???

Have you tried running adware? This removes any spyware off your computer. Also, I'd run a virus scan just to play it safe. :flower:

I've tried. It removed a bunch of them, but it looks like there is one that is hiding pretty good. Looks like its time to have my computer-techie friend come over for a visit!

I have a program on my computer from Trend Micro, called PC-cillin. Have had no problems getting "infections" since I installed it. You can even run a spyware/adware scan on your PC from their site for free, to see what is gumming up the works for you.

I still think, though that you should have your friend over to fix your computer. It's amazing what an expert can find and fix on an adware/spyware/trojan infected system.

Back up what you can from your computer onto CDs, you know, documents, special e-mails. In order to realy fix the problem, your friend might have to 'wipe' the system and re-install everything.

agnes!

Download a program called "Spybot Search&Destroy v1.4" and run it. It gets rid of most anything.

The download and install Microsoft's free anti spyware tool (it's on thier home page) and that should help keep the spyware away.

also get spysweeper - it's a trial but it cleans the ones adaware and spybot misses.

I have Spysweeper -paid versionr, Spydoctor free, Ad-Ware -free, spybot search in destory - free and mircosoft Anti-Spyware program to.

And to complete the list (Spysweeper is great; I agree) we should also mention CoolWebShredder :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

There are currently over 110,000 pieces of spyware and malware out there...

another one I was just using last night to get rid of the latest variant of coolwebsearch is CounterSpy.

CWShredder is awesome.

I can use this advice too - I have the same problem as the op - ugh! Words underlined and so many pop-ups I can hardly type this.

I'll try the things suggested here.

Laurie :)

another thing is to get Firefox from www.mozilla.org - it's a browser like Internet Explorer but has a built-in pop-up blocker.

If you do use IE, get the google toolbar. It also has a pop-up blocker that would eliminate a lot of the clutter.

Definitely get the Google Toolbar (toolbar.google.com); it will stop the pop ups. But first clean up the spyware.
