I Have Several Disneyland Questions ?

My Wife and I will be making our trip to Disneyland & Southern California for the first time since 1999 in May. I have several questions for you Disneyland lovers.

1. Where is the best place to stay close to the park other than Disney Hotels.
2. How are the crowds around the third week in May.
3. What's new in the park ( not counting DCA ).
4. Best places to eat at Disney. We will be eating at the Blue Bayou.
5. What other things would you recommend doing in Southern Calif.
6. Is DCA as bad as I am always hearing .

We are annual passholder's at WDW, so we are looking forward to visiting Disneyland again.

1. Where is the best place to stay close to the park other than Disney Hotels.

Depends what you are looking for!! If you need cheap, close, clean and comfortable, I like the Desert Inn and Suites. If you are looking for a nicer breakfast and pool with a personal shuttle but still walkable, Candy Cane Inn would be a good bet. HoJo is great too and we really like the kids pool there!

2. How are the crowds around the third week in May.

They should be low as long as you avoid Memorial Day weekend!

3. What's new in the park ( not counting DCA ).

There is Buzz, Changes to Pirates, Fireworks show, Cafe Orleans is a new sit down now, Tom Sawyers Island will be new then too!

4. Best places to eat at Disney. We will be eating at the Blue Bayou.

I like Storyteller's Cafe, Whitewater Snacks, and Carnation Cafe.

5. What other things would you recommend doing in Southern Calif.

We like to hit the beach if it's warm.

6. Is DCA as bad as I am always hearing .

We really like DCA, I would definitely give it a chance and try it out for yourself.

We are annual passholder's at WDW, so we are looking forward to visiting Disneyland again.

I agree with the PP, and add that I really like CA, the TOT and Cali Screamin' are some of my favorite rides. Soarin is there also. I like the general feel of it also. I think the changes they are making will only make it better. One word of caution though, don't be fooled by the peaceful looking swinging gondolas

1. We like to stay at the Ramada Plaza Hotel which is about a 5 minute walk to the parks and is comfortable and cheap.

2. They should be fine because most schools aren't out yet and it is before Memorial Day.

3. Everything that MATTERHORN said plus Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh, Downtown Disney, Space Mountain was changed in 2005 as was Jungle Cruise, rates entertainment, no more Rocket Rods, Tarzan's Treehouse.

4. Blue Bayou definitely. Also for Counter Service: Rancho del Zocalo, Redd Rockett's, Bengal Barbecue.

5. San Diego Zoo, Seaworld, the beach

6. Just go into the park with a different mindset and you'll have a good time. Don't expect another Disneyland. Don't let other opinions prevent you from having a bad time.
