I have got to quit thinking because it only gets me into trouble.

So, I was BOMA at my job today and got to thinking about our house. I was wondering, since we are headed for some really cold weather tonight, what if the pipes burst? Where is that emergency water cut off again?

Tonight, I am sitting here, watchin' the news, and veggin' waiting for the laundry to finish washing, so that I can go walk the Chihuahuas in the cold again, when I heard this odd noise. It came from the downstairs bathroom. The kitty litter box is down there. It's not a room that we utilize as a bathroom. We flush the potty at least once a week to keep it from becoming icky. Since it's the cat's space and cats are always up to something, I didn't give the odd noise much thought.

Well, the washer finished and it was time to go walk the dogs, but I realized that I needed to go upstairs to go potty first. I noticed that there was the sound of running water, but the washer was done and there was no water running other than a slight drip from a couple of faucets which was not enough to make that water running through pipes sound. When I finished and went down the steps to the basement level, the sound of water running was clearly coming from the kitty room potty. I opened the tank and immediately one part of the plunging apparatus shot up in the air at me and then the tank became a fountain! :scared1: Water began overflowing the tank almost immediately. I was able to quickly turn off the emergency valve and stop the water. :worship: Thank you Jesus!

Corey comes home tomorrow. She says that she will fix it this weekend. :flower3:

Thank God for handy wives and emergency water shut offs! See what I get for thinking? :rolleyes1

Geez! You're right -- thank God for handy wives! :scared1:

I don't mean to laugh, b/c that stinks... But yourexplanation of the tank becoming a fountain made me chuckle...

Thank God it is not a bathroom you use... Maybe you should consider leaving the faucet in the sink/shower dripping just a bit to keep the water flowing....

Ugh. I hate plumbing problems! Good that you caught it before there was a flood!

Amen for those handy wives!! Mine has tools and a brand new work bench I got her for Christmas!! Hey, I figure, with that handy dandy thing, she can build me ALL kinds of goodies for the house!! Ironically, my ex-husband, couldn't hammer his way out of box...go figure!:rotfl2:
