A great place to hide Christmas gifts, that is! Ok, no, this isn't going to hold that new bike or trampoline, but for smaller items, it is a place that my children will NEVER look--my husband, either, for that matter! :rolleyes1 Our attic is a pain, the kids search the closets, the garage is a possibility, but...

where is this magical hiding spot? Why, it's those neat drawers that are under the front loading washers and dryers! :cool1: We never use those for anything...I don't think I've even opened them in the two years that we've had our new washer and dryer. Today I was able to put a ton of toys in there! I'm so happy!:cool1:

I hide mine in the rubbermaid totes that hold my Christmas decorations-no one looks in there once we decorate the tree and I don't generally shop until Dec so it works great. Just hope your machine doesn't leak between now and Christmas.

You children and spouses have paid me... and soon your secret stashing places will be revealed...UNLESS you would like to pay me more...pirate:

LOL - everyone in my house knows exactly where all the Christmas gifts are. None of them are snoopers. They all like being surprised on Christmas morning. :goodvibes

Wow that's a good one. I may try that.

I hide mine in the rubbermaid I put our blankets in.

That's a good idea!! Will remember that for when I have kids!

:santa: When my DS' were little I hid all their gifts in our suitcases in the basement. DS#2's bday is 12/30...so I hid Xmas as well as all his Bday gifts in them. It works out great IF you are not traveling during the holidays!!!

I have an attic space with direct access from my closet. There is a small door to access it. The door is hidden by my clothes, and I don't think the kids know it exists. I put everything there.

We have done the hiding in the Christmas decoration bins after decorating too, but our current favorite is the car carrier that we use on long trips. It stays in the basement when not in use, and it's perfect. It even has a lock on it, so even if they figure it out, they don't have a key! Works like a charm.

I come from a long line of snoopers. Every year my dad and I were always surprised by what we gave my mom. Whatever gift we purchased seemed to magically transform from what we had wrapped to something completely different! She always re-wrapped in the same paper and replaced our "bad" gift with something of similar size! I think the Ronco Bottle opener was the final straw for her keeping our gifts!:rotfl2:

We don't have a basement and our attic is through the kids' playroom, so I'm always afraid they'll hear us. I thought about the storage totes, but I'd probably forget and drag one out before Christmas for some dumb reason.

I love the suitcase idea, but sometimes my four pretend they are going on a trip and play with the suitcases.

And as far as Melsmice and the whole bribery thing, have you not heard what a tough economy this is?! I'm having enough trouble bribing teachers for grades, police to get out of tickets, and bosses for holidays off! ;)

Another suitcase person here!

I have always thought that laundry (either clean or dirty) would also be a good cover up. Nobody but me ever seems to touch it!

The only snooper in this house is me and I do the shopping so I just put them in our closet and the kids know not to go in.

I am a hardcore snooper though. I'm actually really bad at waiting to give gifts too. I got DH a new cell phone for Christmas and gave it to him the other night. Oh well.

I can't clean out my closet until the kids move out. All those clothes I never wear and boxes of stuff really hide the presents well. So well that one present got forgotten and we gave it as a birthday present!

:)

Yeah, I thought I'd found the perfect hiding spot from my dh. The front hall closet. We never use it as we always use the back door near the garage and hang our coats there instead.

Turns out, DH though it was the perfect spot to hide gifts from me! :headache:

I always have a trash bag or two of used, outgrown clothes in the back of my closet and that's where the presents go. I've told DS that his presents are at the neighbors and we have their children's. He still believes me. lol!

:lmao: Your mom is hilarious! What a great idea.

I used to do this with dd's gifts. I always kept a trash bag in the basement and filled it with clothes as she outgrew them. When it was full, I'd take the bag to Goodwill. It was always easy at Christmas to just slide another trashbag behind the real castoff clothing one. She's 18 and still hasn't figured out where my hiding spot is.

You all just shush and don't tell her, ok? ;)

For smaller gifts, my hiding place is in my dishwasher!

I never use it because I can wash dishes by hand so much faster and my DD knows it never runs. (I use it only to clean my indoor stovetop grill.)
