for a solo trip in June. Please help me decide where I should stay. I have only ever stayed at OKW, BCV, AKV, and SSR. Now that the kids are grown it's time to branch out and use my points to the fullest. Here's where I am considering:

BLT theme park
VGF lake view
BRV preferred
BWV garden/pool
Riviera Resort preferred (don't know the initials)

I would pick based on what I like to do. I think it's time consuming to get around. If I wanted to go to HS and EPCOT mostly, I would pick BW. If I wanted to spend most time in MK I would pick BLT or GF. If I am spending a lot of time at the resort I would pick GF first and then BW second.

There is no preferred for BRV. It's all one category. BUT beware of the studio with no balcony and next to the dumpster (two different studios).

If you're going to spend most of your time at MK, then I'd say VGF.

Otherwise, I'd say either BWV ( the location can't be beat and you have lots of dining options within walking distance ) or Riveria ( also for it's more central location )

But the real question is, do you really want to spend 12 nights in a studio? Why not seven nights in a one bedroom instead? If for no other reason than more space to move around, even if you are solo. And you get a washer and dryer in your villa instead of trudging over to a shared laundry room where you have to worry about getting your clothes out of the washer/dryer before another guest takes them out for your so they can use your machine.

At seven months out, it will be hard to get 12 nights at one location.

Now call me different. But solo i would try 2 or 3 nights at each. I dont mind moving amd solo is easy. This way you see them all and research what ypu like or dont ar each.

I would try for 6 nights at BLT for the convenience of hopping over to MK, followed by 6 nights at BWV, for Epcot, DHS, & simply, BW fun :cloud9:

I just did 4 nights solo in August and stayed at VGF. I loved, loved, loved it. Now, if I was doing 12 nights, I would split my stay and choose 2 resorts. VGF and BWV!

I second this plan, VGF is a beautiful resort and you can enjoy all there is see and do in the MK area during the leg of your stay. After that moving to BWV which is in a great location would allow you to enjoy two parks, the boardwalk and all the resorts in that area. Both location has many nice dining options and lounges to visit. Whatever you decide I hope you have a fun trip. pixiedust:

If you have plenty of available points, I'd vote for VGF. Mostly because you don't know what the future holds and you may never have so many points available as you do right now, so why not splurge on VGF?

Our family has always enjoyed trying different resorts. Like others have said while you have the points choose the resort that interests you the most.

It really depends on what parks you are going to visit most. If Epcot then BWV for sure. Otherwise I would pick BRV. Close to MK and when not in the parks it feels like you are somewhere else.

For that long a stay, I would break it up to 2 resorts:

VGF lake view
BWV garden/pool

I would go to two different resorts, VGF, but standard to save points. We had lake view once then stayed in standard and liked it better. Two resorts might give you some variety.

I'd pick riviera while you can still get into it. As DVC declares more inventory andowners start booking there it might be difficult to get in.

This I can't imagine 12 nights in a studio would far rather have fewer in a 1 bed.

Deb & Bill have a great point in getting a one bedroom villa... Okay, so why don't you do a split stay and start in a studio in the one of the more expensive studios and then move to a one bedroom in one of the less point expensive resorts? I would never stay in the one bedroom first that is setting yourself up for disappointment and what do you do with all that laundry?

You don't need to split it 6 and 6, perhaps 5 and 7 and don't forget that Sunday through Friday are less expensive so you should try to stay in the more expensive one bedroom those nights. It takes some strong coffee, a calendar, points charts, lots of scrap paper and a bit of patience, but you can than look forward to a WD (my personal favorite) and space to yourself - AWESOME!

I spent five nights solo at the Disney Institute (I think that was what is was called then) when I did a gig at the American Adventure in 1993 for the 10th Anniversary. Now I had a 3 bedroom condo, a VIP pass, VIP parking and lots of perks (priceless memories) and left the family at home so it was all around an amazing visit. I "worked" during the day and spent the evenings enjoying a park and never once felt lonely or alone (sorry family - I really do love you)...

It will be a fun trip doing anything when you want to - no whining, so enjoy!
