I "HAVE" Cats! PICTURE!!

...or so I used to think. We have two grown cats who mostly hang out at the barn or lounge on the porch or sleep with the dogs on the deck... and today we adopted two 8 week old kittens at the humane society. (TWO??? What were we thinking??) Mozart and Sebastian have joined the family! They are settling in nicely, have met the dogs (and were not overly impressed) and will meet the other kitty cats in a couple of days once they know they live here.
Our 21 year old cat died two years ago. One of the new kittens looks just like her. Totally different personality though. But, just looking at this little guy is odd.

You don't own a cat, they own you. But I'm sure you already knew that from your first cat. And it sounds like they picked you too. Congrats on your new family members. I'm sure the dogs will forgive you.

I used to be a member of the I hate cats club. Now we have 3 indoor cats and a neighborhood cat we feed and fuss over. I can't imagine my life without them.

I miss having a kitty. I just told DFi that before I saw this thread. But I'm allergic to them and even though my allergies get better the more I'm around them at home, it's still not fun. I would love to get a new kitty though. Then he reminds me about the cat hair, the litter box (eww), adn the misery I endure until I become "immune" to that particular cat.

I never hated cats, but I was a dog person. I've been trying to get my dh to agree to getting a kitten for months. So far no luck.

I don't like them. Never have. Everyone in my family is allergic, maybe that's why. No I'm sure it has to do with the cat my sister used to own that was demonized. Anyway, for some reason my house seems to be the drop off point for everyone that hates cats because they all seem to get dropped here. The Humane Society is beginning to hate me I call them so much. They are coming out today to trap a momma and her kitten. She had 2 kitties but they refused to trap 4 weeks ago when I called them because they were still nursing, now she has 1. Don't know where the other one is, and the big grey male that was following momma around seems to have disappeared too.

You are going to have so much fun and hours and hours of entertainment, they are sooooo cute!
6 years ago following the death of our beloved Charlie, the kids and I returned from Animal control with 2 kittens. They had 2 speeds, on and asleep. They thought my big fluffy bed at the end of a long hallway was the turn of their Indy 500 track and it didn't matter whether or not the bed was occupied! We hadn't had 2 kittens in over 15 years at that point and we had forgotten how active and curious they were. Oh the antics to come.
