After days of anticipation, I have arrived at the WDW resort. I'm staying at the Polynesian Resort in the Tahiti building. It is the first time I am staying at the Polynesian. I must say that after a long 2 1/2 hour flight while it is hot, this resort cooled me down. We arrived at 2:45 p.m. They did make us wait, but we put our luggage with the bellmen services and walked around the resort.
The gardens are so beautiful. All the colors and beautifully cared flowers made me and my mom "ooo" and "ahhhh" at the sight. We walked along the long Polynesian beach, where we heard sounds from the Magic Kingdom and caught a glimpse of Cinderella's Castle, The GF, and the CR. My sister and I love the WDW monorails, so we admired that as well. We walked over to the Volcano pool. Three letters: W-O-W. We begged our parents to spend the afternoon and evening at the pool once our rooms were ready.
We went back to the lobby of the Great Ceremonial House. I just admired the tall garden right in the center of the lobby! The waterfalls and sounds of birds echoed through the lobby. It seemed like I really was in Polynesia (I have to wait until November to actually get the real feeling!)!
Shortly after 3 p.m., our rooms were ready. While walking to our rooms, my sister felt lightheaded from the heat. My dad carried her. My sister is small for her age, so anything from cold temperatures to hot temperatures affects her. We also had flown in from NJ where it was cooler this morning - only 50 degrees. To go from 50 degrees to 85 degrees in 2 1/2 hours is not something she handles well.
Anyway, when we got to our room, my sister got sick from the heat. She also had on jeans and a 3/4 sleeve shirt because it was cold this morning in NJ. Beside my sister getting sick, I admired the room. Jess and I will share a room with 2 queens, and my parents will share the adjoining room with one king. The beds looked so comfy.
Jess is sleeping on one of the beds right now, so that it why I am typing. Well, I'm actually in my bathing suit. Mom is going to stay with Jess while Dad takes me to the pool. The Volcano Pool.
I'll tell you all about it later!!!!

Wow! I'm back at WDW, patiently enjoing my nine day stay at the Poly!
Bye bye for now!

Sounds like you are having a great time. Sorry to hear your sister isn't feeling well.
Looking forward to reading more of your trip. Have a "magical" time.

Hope Jess feels better soon! The surroundings and your care will help, I think. It's cool that we are getting a "live" report. Thank you!

There is a king bed in a lagoon view room in Tahiti?
I thought that all rooms at the Poly had two queen beds....?

There is a king bed in a lagoon view room in Tahiti?

No.. actually there is not. We were told upon arrival that one room had a king and the other had two queens. We've never stayed at the Poly before, so we were like, "Oh, okay." When we got to the Tahiti Longhouse, I knew that there was no king beds in this longhouse. Indeed there isn't. Just two queen beds.
