I really can't imagine have two different lines like that. Sounds like a class system of sorts, which is silly when anyone who pays a ticket (whatever kind of ticket) has the same right to ride. I don't like the OP's idea at all.

This thread is reassuring, though. It seems like everywhere I look I keep reading about 1-hour plus lines (here, the Unofficial Guide, etc.). I think it's more of an overall impression than anything specific.

agreed about the line separation class system.

but i will agree that coming during peak times will make your lines longer. like summer and holidays, saturdays, and the last week or two of AP access...

3 days before the halloween stuff came down last year, i waited TWO HOURS for space mountain. that was a mistake, it was a letdown too. but yes, you can have insane waits for things when it's peak. so while we have lots of proof that the lines can absolutely be shorter, if you come during a peak time, expect long long lines.

next week on a weekday could be not too bad. have fun!

You'll have lines at anything fun you want to do with your kids. We've had lines at museums, parks, waterplay areas, mcdonald's playplace, etc. Learning to wait in line is a part of life, and teaching children patience and courtesy at a young age is something it doesn't hurt them at all to learn.

As a non AP holder, I realize that many of them already have blockout dates, and that their continued and constant support of the park is what helps pay to ensure it's beautiful and fun for when my kids and I get a chance to go.

The wise thing to do (as you should know, if you've been perusing the boards for a while) is to find times of the year when it tends to be quieter, and plan your vacation then. If, on the other hand, you prefer to just avoid Disneyland, that is your choice, but it's a shame your children will miss out rather than have to wait in line for a short period.

I mean, it sounds as though the OP has no concept of how a theme park works. And it's probably best if the OP avoids Disneyland and all places where he/she may encounter a line. I mean, if lines are going to ruin your trip, best not go.

I've actually been in City Hall before where people were complaining to the CMs about having to wait in lines. Those City Hall workers have far more patience than I! I recall one person complaining that they rode almost no rides. Why? Because they'd get in a line, wait 30 minutes or so, and then get annoyed and leave to go to a different line. Repeat. Too funny.

And just for fun, here's a picture we took of the wait time board during the off-season. Thursday January 22nd, 2009. The time stamp says 5pm. Not sure if I changed the time on my camera though for the time zone. so it was either 5pm or 3pm.

"Trolls" on any message boards/online forums are peope who join up just to post inflammatory rhetoric (or occasionally, spam threads with links to p*rn or other products... or just random links). A troll might join a long hair forum and post about how he hates long hair, finds it ugly and thinks everyone with long hair should cut it off... or join a feminist board and make heaps of posts saying "women should stay in the kitchen lol"... something like that. I'm not sure the OP in this thread is a troll, personally... but that's the definition for you.

Oops, I see disneywondergirl22 got there before me! Just wanted to add, trolls love to create a fuss, so if you suspect a troll (a post count of 1 is a good indication, or an inflammatory nickname), it'd best not to respond to the thread at all. Just quietly alert a mod.

Ahh... I see. One who lurks, waits for the right moment and then sneaks out to say, "Boo!" I agree, OP may not be a troll, just someone who does not know what they are getting into.
