Yep, apparently they're too lazy. I always type Boy, Because, and The. I don't abbreviate things because it makes you look ignorant.

lol I have no idea why boi instead of boy. As a writer I personally prefer to spell everything correctly - or at least most of the time. I think it's just the new 'hip' thing to do in typing. but yes sometimes it is used like abbreviations: tho, thru, cuz...it's faster. Same as Mrs. and Mr. instead of Misses and Mister, and LA instead of Louisiana. Convieniance.
