I am home now, and I did enjoy it. The resort itself, not pertaining to CL, was awesome.

Yes! The Animal Kingdom Lodge is such a great resort. I'm always thrilled to hear of another fan. We've stayed there three times, and I loved it more each time.

AKL is our favorite Disney hotel, by far. I just hate that it's not walkable to anything else so we always split it with BC or YC (or once in a while, Poly).

We were there from 6-3 to 6-13 and I liked the AKL but the rainy evening we watched the young giraffe play tag with its mother made the place magic.

We've never had a bad stay at AKL. It often gets bad rap around here and I've never understood why.
Well, some say it's remote but those people who say that have never looked at a map of WDW. Check one out sometime. AKL isn't remote. Technically, MK is.

Same for us. We loved the YC until the changes/pets. Love the AKL due to it be quiet and Boma is great.

AKL has always been our dream resort but I could never justify the cost, when we spend a lot of our time in the parks. Last summer, DH and I went to FL to visit a friend, NOT to go to Disney, but we were there over my birthday so we decided to do 2 nights at AKL (rented DVC points). I was in love . This summer, I am taking DD to AKL for 6 nights to celebrate her 25th birthday. She is over the moon, having the chance to finally stay at AKL!!
