I have a leak around/under my bathtub?

Hi So I have a leak somewhere in my bathtub/shower and I can not figure out where it is coming from?? It only happens when we are taking a shower (have to be in the shower) if i just have the shower running (with no one in it) there is not leak into the basement????

So i 1st thought it was the cocking when the tile and tub meet, so I relaced that seems to be all sealed up! So my thought turns to the tub drain? We did a bathroom remodel months back (did not replace or take out the original tub) but maybe when we were doing the remodel the tub move a bit and the drain is now is not lined up right?? Problem with that is when I remove the access panel in the living room i feel the drain connection under the tub it doesn't feel wet. Last night I did feel a drip but that could have come from me feeling around. Sorry if this is all over the place not sure where to go or what to look at next?

I had the same problem a couple of years ago. Sometimes the faucet (where it turns on) leaks behind the wall where it couples together. The plumber found it and fixed it right away. Your problem sounds like the one we had.

leaks are sometimes very difficult to find the source. If possible have someone take a shower while your in the basement looking for the leak. Good luck

Forgot to add - the weight of the person maybe causing the tub to pull away from the tile & the caulking is failing, even though you just re-caulked it.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago. Sometimes the faucet (where it turns on) leaks behind the wall where it couples together. The plumber found it and fixed it right away. Your problem sounds like the one we had.

same here only with ours the reason it only happened when we used the shower was because of that little knob you pull up on the faucet that fills the tub, the leak was above the bath faucet but below the shower head.

This happened in my son's room awhile ago and no one knew until an unbelievable amount of black mold developed between his room and the kitchen.
