I have a hawk about 6 feet from me on my deck!

He is sitting on the rail just looking in the office at me! I wish I could go get the camera, but I am sure he would be gone by the time I get back!

ARGH! I just went down to get the camera out of the car. The hawk was still on the rail when I left the car, but by the time I got upstairs, he was gone! I think it is an immature one, because he has speckled feathers on his breast. I have to go dig out my bird book now to find out for sure what it was.

I would be absolutly terrified.....Birds are my biggest fobia in the world. Ugghh I'm shivering just thinking about it.

OHhhhhhhhhhhhh how cool!!! Sounds like it could've been a Red Tailed or Red Shouldered Hawk.... how fantastic!!! That would have made my day!!

That IS cool. We have several hawks that frequent our yard and sit on our neighbor's fence. I love to see them take off -- that wing span!

We have a veritable nature preserve in the back of our house -- rabbits, armadillos, alligators, turtles, deer, racoons, hawks, cranes, egrets, blue herons, snakes, lizards, buzzards, and squirrels. We have a conservation area of woods and a lake and it's so nice and peaceful to look out on.

Our two cats have a ball watching all of it through the window!

It was a juvanile Red tail hawk. Out at our new log home, I have seen a bald eagle overhead several times. Just beautiful!

yard .......sitting in the snow with a dead pigeon.........he was busy plucking feathers but I was in awe watching it ........now I am a city girl here........and our house and yard are in the middle of a city......but it was still so exciting.........

Neat! We had an Osprey (seahawk) on our balcony one morning, and I was sooo excited! Took lots of photos, and even sent some to the International Osprey Foundation that they posted on their website! Fun to see nature close-up and not in a zoo!

It is so amazing to see these animals. I am so lucky to be volunteering in a place where I can see them very up close. Such beautiful amazing creatures!
