I have a crazy question for you

Does this seem like it could be done..we have booked our Dec 04 trip with 2004 BWV points whis is where we are staying, now my DIL is saying she really wants to go down in Aug of 04 of which I have no points left as I have a Sept use year I wouldn't get the 05 points till 9/1..can I change the Dec Ressie at the 7 month window and use the 04 points for an Aug visit and use my 05 points for Dec..does this make any sense to ANYBODY! if anyone has an answer please let me know cause I don't want to call MS and let them know I am really nuts..TIA Marianne

If you "change" your Dec 04 reservation, you will really cancel it and make a new reservation with other points. If you got anything specific, like a Std view or Bdwk view, you may lose it.

If your points are all at one resort, you might call MS to see if you can borrow points for Dec 04 from Sept 05 points and use the Sept 04 points for Aug 04.

Yes, it is possible. I don't think you need to wait though. I would call and ask that they reallocate your Dec trip using borrowed points from 05. Than take the points you freed up and use them for Aug 04. (Figure carefully for the reallocation, as Aug is less points than Dec., you don't want to free up to many or you'll need to bank)

I believe I am going to have to wait for the 7th month window as I have 200 points at OKW and anly 100 at BWV which is where I want to stay in DEC 04..if I call now I would not be able to use my OKW 05 points for the Aug stay ..the only 04 points I have are the BWV points which I used at the 11 month window..does that make sense?

I think I understand what you are saying. You should be able to cancel your Dec trip and then borrow your 2004 points into this year and use them for the Aug trip. You then can borrow your 2005 points into 2004 for your Dec trip. I also have a Sept use year so my 2003 points went from Sept 2003 until Aug 2004 and so on. You do know that you can't return points to the given use year after you borrow them. The Aug trip would be the last month you can use the 2004 points once you have borrowed them into 2003 use year. Good luck with the reservation change and getting what you want. That 7 month window is close at hand depending on when you want to go in Aug.

Merilyn is right. You will have to cancel the December reservation and borrow those points into this use year for August. Then you will need to borrow from 2005 for the trip in December. There's a couple of problems that might arise from this though. One, if your DIL cancels the trip in August those points will still have to be used by August 31 of this year. Also you run the risk of a last minute cancelation which means that you will have the points in a holding account that have to be used by that date. Since you haven't hit the 7-month window yet I assume that the trip is at the end of August. This makes it even more risky. Finally, I believe that the reservation for December will have to totally canceled before you can do this. So you run the risk that the room type and dates that you booked may not be available and will have to go on the waitlist. Although being put on the waitlist this far out will likely work and you will have no problem, there's still a chance that you wouldn't get what you want. I think that I would ask if there is still availability for those dates before I canceled it. Boy, you are awfully accomodating to your DIL! What a nice MIL!

My DIL is just so great and we get along really well..I have been watching my 2 grandson's for 9 years now ever since they where born started out at 2 days a week now its really only when they are off from school and we are all very close..we go away about 2x a year but really Dec is our favorite time to go together..last year we went in June & Nov but we all missed going in our usual time in Dec..we are debating wheather to go to Disney in Aug or leave from NY on a cruise..just wanting to get the most out of our AP's but if it means losing the Dec ressie we just might be forced to do the NY cruise thing..anyway thanks for all your answeres I will call MS and let you guys know what the answer is..Marianne

Sounds like your only other option at this point is to rent. August (especially near the end) although hot is great because the parks are very quiet. We would get an FP for a favorite ride, get on the standby for it and ride it, than use our FP. Got 2 ride twice in under 30 minutes!
