Both my DH and myself lived, worked, and played in Central Florida for 10 years before we had to "reluctantly" move back North for family reasons. Needless to say all of our friends are in Florida. HOWEVER, Our family life up here is so jammed with other people (we are primary caregivers to 86 year old grandmother and severly disabled father in law, as well as anchor to mother in law that lost husband to cancer and siblings that are not grown yet). Full time jobs and a multitude of other things. Needless to say when we take a vacation it is to escape "everyone else" (our theme song is "We're not gonna take them" adapted from Twisted Sisters "We're not gonna Take It".) we don't tell any one that we know in Florida that we are coming down.
I always feel guilty for not saying anything, but realize if we told one, then they would all know and then our time would be spent dividing our time with everyone else (just like at home, just different people) when we really want to enjoy our little family of 5 with no interuptions. If we vacationed anywhere else this would never be an issue, but WDW is our most favorite place in the world... what do you think? Are we big "poopy heads" (as our daughter would say) or are we justified?
