I have a phone number list of all the Gamstops in my area. And an EB Electronics. They basically told me they are periodically getting in Wii's. One Gamestop has gotten in 9 Wii's since the original release date. (3 shipments of 3!)They are selling them FCFS. I asked how I could get my hands on one of only 3. Basically, i have to call daily to see if a shipment has come in. EB will hold one for me if I call and the have a shipment, but Gamestip has to process them, and they won't hold one.

This is like spinning a game wheel. Dial the phone at the right time, you win!

UGH. It's not the end of the world if he doesn't have it for Christmas, but it is the only thing on his list, so if I can't get one, I don't know what else to do.

It's all luck right now. I stood in line to get the preorder and picked it up on release day for DS who will get it for X-Mas.

I can't get another wireless controller. They packed it a game that you need 2 players for and the only way to get a second controller right now is E-Bay. I don't want to spend all that on an extra controller.
I already spent double for a PS3 on EBay and I can't believe I did that.$1200, just to get it by X-Mas. I'm not one to be frivolous with $, but sometimes you just have to resort to letting someone else make a buck off you!

Good Luck!

I lucked up with Gamestop today. I had covered our entire city trying to find a pink Nintendo DS, GAmestop was showing that they had them at both of their stores and at EB. I called Gamestop closest to the house yesterday and the guy said they had some . I went in today at 10 and I got the last pink one they had :thumbsup2 . This pink thing is killing me! I then had to go to Circuit City to get a pink case for it. This search for the perfect hot toy is really annoying me! No one in town has Wii, or PS3. XBox 360's are still hard to come by too. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

::yes:: I'd heard the shipments would be in dribbles and drabs after the launch and that does seem to be the case. In the end I figured it would probably take less of my time to get up early on launch day and stand in line for one in the initial shipment than to keep checking back to get one later..... What I didn't count on was having to keep checking back for remotes :confused3. That's a BIG surprise given the profit margin on accessories!

I'm another one who can't get her grubby little paws on a Wii.

My EB Games says they're getting random shipments too, but they're just FCFS - no holds, even if I call in on the day they arrive. :sad2:

I really fail to see the purpose in managing distribution this way. The whole purpose of marketing is to make your product EASY to buy, not difficult. :badpc:

My only consolation is that I hear Nintendo plans to ship enough to meet demand. But, like the OP said, it's a spinning wheel craps shoot.
