I hate the Rule!!!!!!!

Okay little background info:
I am dating a guy named Brian. He is a woddshop guy but not a complete nerd and is really cute! I am a popular cheerleader. Popular cheerleaders are supposed to date Jocks. It's a "rule". But the reason I am not dating a Jock because the J stands for Jerks.
Anyway my friend called me and basically said that I'm not following the rule and it could jepoardize my popularity. It's a stupid rule!!!! Who cares if I date a Jock or a nerd! I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!!!! And I'm worried she's going to try to get me to follow the rule by saying something completely wrong to Brian! for my "own good". I hate it, I hate it, I hate it! If she does I will be p****d! The reason I think is because she has been hinting. I hate that stupid rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, I want to look presentable, nice and such but I don't care what others think. I could look like a "nerd" or a "prep" but what would I care? Nope, I wouldn't care at all. I'm me and if people can't accept that, then too bad for them.

So what if it does make you 'not' popular? If you're a nice person and if you're happy with who you are, then you're popular. If your 'friends' don't want to be with you because you're hanging out with somebody who they have deemed 'not' popular enough, then they aren't good friends, now are they? Just tell them that the rule's stupid, and that if makes you not popular, than you don't want to be popular.

BE YOURSELF. If you're happy, good. You don't need to be popular to be happy though. I guess you may feel that way but it's how you feel about your b/f. your friends don't seem supportive and if they're not, either "ditch'' them or don't talk about your b/f around them.

talk to brian about the situation and give him a heads up in case anyone tries to say anything to him about breaking up your relationship! you have each other! who cares about your friends? like shelby said, they arent your friend if they dont except who you like.

If your friiends aren't happy for you and your boyfriend, that doesn't make them your friends. Friends are the people that will still lvoe you no matter who you date. Be happy, be yourself, date who you like, and someone that makes you happy. Warn your boyrfriend that your friends may say something stupid to him, and not to beleive it and to talk to you if htey say anything.
thres not too much more you can do. Talk to him about it too, and see what his take on it is. Don;t break up with him if you really do like him just for your "popularity status"

A) Jocks are not all jerks. I know a lot of guys that are really cool and are jocks. Heck, most of the guys at my school are jocks.

B) Popularity is dumb. No offense or anything, just because you're a cheerleader, doesn't make you popular. It's an acitivty that you like to do and excel in. Having lots of friends doesn't make you popular either, it's simply 'having a lot of friends'. You're social.

C) If your friend is telling you that your 'popularity' at stake, you should be rethinking why you're friends with her.

so people at your school KNOW if your popular or not and say it? My (middle) school isnt like that... i have many VERY VERY VERY popular friends and i have refered to them AS popular and NONE of them believe it and/or knew(ow) it! And many people think im popular.


BUT i relalized this year is the FIRST year i have been considered ''popular'' or w.e. i dont care what people think! i do w/e i want to!

i know how it is... and i seriously think the people that say 'looks dont matter' or 'dress however u want to labels dont matter' ect. are CRAZY!!!! i dont wanna start a fight/dispute but... sometimes for people (not me... anymore at least) style/looks/fashion/labels ect. are all some people have

so anyway. if you like him. date him. maybe your will break the system =] and throw it on the ground and stomp on it... again and again and again MWA HAHAHAHA!! okay that was wierd

anyway my point is FORGET the stupid mean friends

I agree. I'm a cheerleader, that doesn't make me popular. Plus people who are popular to you and your friends might not be popular to others.
