Ladies, I need some suggestions. I hate every bra I own. They are so uncomfortable. I need underwire. Not "gifted" but I am a C cup and the girls need support. I am 47 and truly they don't sag and I want to keep it that way as long as possible. What is a good comfortable bra? Sorry if this is inappropriate. Delete it if you have to but I don't know where else to ask.

Get yourself professionally measured. The support is all in the straps and band. If your bra is the right fit for you, then it should be comfortable. There should be no cupeth runneth over or lifting of the bra band when you lift your arms up straight in the air. Also the middle of your bra should be flat against your breast bone or as close as possible. Try on each bra once you know your correct measurment as there are different styles of bras. And remember when you lose or gain any weight, no matter how big or small, it ALWAYS shows up in the ****s! So you will need to get another bra fitting done. And please, if you go in to be fitted for a bra, please be wearing one :scared1:

wacom - get it at steinmart (cheaper).

i will try on 30 bras only to end right back up at wacom every time. comfy and good support.

I just had a fitting done at Macy's, smartest thing I have done in a long time!
As a C you might not have as much of a problem, I'm 40 DDD .. not much in stock.

For me the Lillyette brand (part of Maidenform) fit nicely and are made well. I tried the Bali (division of Playtex) and found they weren't made very well and the material was scratchy.
You will have to try on SEVERAL brands and types before the "ahhh just right" moment arrives.

I've heard great things about Wacoal bras. The sales lady told me they are guaranteed for one year, just rbing them back to Macy's for an exchange! Recommended by Oprah and was featured on The View. But they are pricey at Macy's at $46 to $70 each and no special promos.

I already had found 2 of the Lilyette and they had a buy 2 get one free so I went searching for just one more. :goodvibes

Finding good bras is a struggle for me, in part because my ribcage is relatively narrow but my cup size is large. Do get fitted and good luck.

I guess I am off to Steinmart for a Wacoal bra. We don't have Macy's or Nordstroms anywhere near me. Thanks guys.

Here is another vote for Wacoal.

There reps come to Neimans a couple times a year and do measurements and for each bra you buy they make a donation to Susan G Komen. :)

I HATE wearing bras, but of course most of the time I need to. I have worn so many bras over the years and nothing was comfortable and nothing gave me smooth lines in the back. I finally went for a fitting and the very first bra she brought out to try on was a Spanx. As soon as I put it on I was in love with it!

Spanx bras are terrific! The only hook you have on the entire bra is the front hook.

You can wear the tightest white shirt with one of these on and you will never see any lines. Your back looks nothing but SMOOTH! It is a miracle!

I took a look at the spanx site. As far as I can tell, they don't make any past D cup!

I wonder if it b/c the straps do not adjust?? I would think cup sizes D+ would need more support in that area and need an adjustable strap:confused3

I was wondering that. Depending on the bra and my weight and point in cycle, I'm either a D or a DD.

I LOVE the Victoria's Secret Biofit bras. Well worth the cost and they're even on sale right now! I just bought 2 in a C cup since my girls are starting to grown with the pregnancy. I won't wear cheap bras, they're just uncomfy for me. When I was deployed and needed new ones, I told my mom what to get me and she shipped them out to me.

I love Soma's travlers allure bra. It's like a **** lift in a bra

I've worn Wacoal and Le Mystere and am now in Frederick's bras. They fit me better and they're half the price. Fred's has bra fitters in their stores who are happy to work with you and will take a look at your hooters and put you in the right bra. I wear Brand X padded push up in a 36DD. They're 2 for $50 and so long as I'm gentle with them, I can wash them and wear them for about 20 months before I need a new one.

Don't let the name warn you off! Fred's bras are every bit as good as the $70 Wacoal bras.

ETA: For a previous poster - if you're relying on the straps to keep everything aloft, you might want to get a different bra. The support should be mainly in the band and cup.

The best bras I have ever owned come from Soma Intimates. Try them. You won't regret it! :thumbsup2

I'm right there with ya - wish I'd lived in the 70s when it was okay to go without them! LOL I never wear one @ home 'cause I can't stand it! I've tried tons with no luck
