I Hate Commercials For Toys!!!

DS is old enough now that he enjoys watching cartoons and of course he is being bombarded with commercials for all these toys some of which I really do NOT want him to even know exist! They keep showing the commercial for the Power Rangers Delta Enforcer gun thing that shoots dart-like things. Just what DS needs! He now says that is the one thing he wants Santa to bring. Santa knows that toy would only cause big problems so Santa will not be bringing it. I know he will get over it when he sees all the other stuff but at the same time I hate that he will not get the thing he says he wants most. I figured I wouldn't have to worry about that until he was bigger and wanted a car or some other outrageously expensive request!

Of course he also says he wants a Furby and those things drive me crazy. I hate them so he won't be getting one of those either.

What is a 3 year old to do when Mom wants to be a scrooge?

I had a furby, my mom stood in line for hours to get it. I took it to a sleepover and some girl kicked it in the head and made it skip.

I teach Kdg. and, sometimes, if the kids are well behaved, I'll let them watch Blues Clues on Nickelodeon to unwind after lunch (we have cable hook up in my room). However, every single commercial break, the toy commercials come on and all I hear is "I want, I want". It's rather annoying!!!

When my niece (4) sees a commercial for something she wants, she says, "I've wanted that MY WHOLE LIFE" sure have wanted that a long time huh.

DD3 has just discovered commercials also...all we hear is "I need that, I want that"...I thought it was just her.

Funny no one noticed the typo. She said DH is old enough to watch cartoons. Wish my DH was old enough so when DD was younger he could of watched with her once in a while and give me a break so I could do other things.

My six year old loves to watch informercials. Then she says stuff like"don't we NEEEED that sweep and vac" or something. Lovely
