I know I say this alot, but this thread involves you too. Who do you know who has or had cancer?

I'm so fed up with this beast.
2 of my teachers AND my uncle were all diagnosed with cancer this week. Teacher 1 has stage I ovarian cancer. Teacher 2 has terminal carcinoma. My uncle has stage IV pancreatic cancer.

I'm so done with this. :sad2:

My aunt had cancer. She died in January 2008. On my friend's birthday, too..

I'm so sorry Sonya =(
I really can't imagine that, especially your uncle.

My grandfather had lung cancer (I'm pretty sure it was lung, but it could have been another organ), and luckily beat it. But he died back in 1999 from surgery after a heart attack. He never was in good health.

My grandma who passed away day before my brother was born...and my friends mom(who is like a 2nd mom to me) was diagnosed with breast cancer last october

I'm sorry to everyone who lost someone to cancer. :(

My friends' mom died in Dec. from breast cancer that spread to her bones.
My other friends' mom had breast cancer and was beating it but it spread to her brain and she died in early Dec./Nov.

R.I.P.

 to everyone here! My Girlfriend has cancer, but supposedly she's doing really well, which is happy news, but there's still worry that it might suddenly... fail or something, or it might come back after it goes away.

I hate it when people lie about illnesses

My chemistry teacher has stage 4 colon cancer. He's not ther every other week due to chemo.

Three out of my four grandparents had it. My grandfather had prostate cancer, and it spread. My other grandfather had lung cancer and then tongue cancer. I will never pick up a cigarette in my life because I've seen how much it does. It can and will kill. My grandmother had breast cancer. I never met her. She passed before my parents were seriously dating. Sadly, all three grandparents are now gone to cancer combined with other health issues. Luckily, my grandmother is extremely healthy and has never had any serious illnesses.

I know. Once an ex-Friend said she had some rare disease... I googled it and he was just lying about it. The disease didn't even exist :sad2:

A good friend of mine passed away from cancer.
She wasn't strong enough to fight it and it won.

Currently a friend of my dad's has cancer and the doctor's have told him there's no hope and he doesn't have long to live.

Cancer is s hard, you don't think it will ever effect you, and then it hits someone you love.

I'm so sorry, Sonya.
I can't even image what you're going through.

My teacher's daughter has cancer, not sure how she's doing.
My grandpa just became cancer free a couple weeks ago.

 Sonya, cancer sucks majorly.

My nan died of ovarian cancer when I was about 2, she was 49, then her mother died a few months later of ovarian cancer too. My grandad (other side) died of lung cancer (from years of smoking) when he was about 60 and I was 8. My great-grandfather died of cancer of the liver (I think) some years ago, I'm quite sure he was an alcoholic when he was younger. My other Nan's parents also both died of cancer, but I am not sure which types. Then a few months ago, my friend Sarah's mum died of ovarian cancer too.
My family is plagued by cancer and it feels like something is always missing whenever we go to family shindigs. It really sucks. Idk, cancer is something I've grown up with and consequently known a little bit about and I know what it does to people and their families, but at the same time can't imagine what it must be like for cancer patients. I hated seeing my family so helpless though and once it is terminal, know there is nothing left to do but wait for them to die. It is a horrible experience and something of my childhood I've tried to block out.

Sonya, I wish all the best to your uncle and your teachers, and hope they are the lucky ones :)

:hug:s to everyone.

My grandpa has prostate cancer. It went away and then came back so he has about 11 more treatments. He's doing fine, just a little tired.

My great grandpa died from lung cancer. (He smoked a lot)
My old teachers daughter had cancer. She died when she was about 8. :(
It was really sad, because it was the year after I had her for class.
They told everyone not to say anything about it.

 im so sorry sonya.

i know how you feeel.
my ahma (grandma) got diagnosed with lung cancer and she's too weak to have the surgury and grandpa got diagnosed with prostate cancer about a month ago
i hate cancer.

Cancer took my best friends' grandfather. Lung cancer.

Thing is, he was doing okay. Had some radiation, it was working. He was coming home from a treatment in the hospital, and felt unwell. Called for a nurse, and by the time she/he showed up, he had passed out. They tried to revive him, but it was too late. He was gone.

Saddest part was, that he had JUST talked to my best friend 20 minutes before this happened, to say "I'm coming home, I love you".

My grandma died of stomach cancer. My grandpa died of lung cancer. It's an awful disease. :(

My best friend's mom just got diagnosed with breast cancer this past week. Stage 2. She's due to have a mastectomy this friday. This is her 2nd round with it. She had it 3 years ago and was 'cleared'. Only had radiation. It was in its super early stage.

I had an English teacher who had esophageal cancer, and was wasting away in front of our eyes. It was such a sad thing to see. She died a week before school was let out for the summer.

Aww.
I'm sorry to hear that sweetie.

Yes,
Cancer is a dreadful thing.

My grandma, well, she was my step grandma, died of pancreatic cancer later last year. It was a long uphill battle for our family.

After that, I became really bad with my health anxiety.
I was so scared and I was doing something wrong and it would hit me too.
Every small ache was something I thought to be a major concern, and I would get panic. Like to where I would not pay attention to my breathing and get dizzy.

But I got the proper attention, got some blood test taken, and I'm gonna start eating healther (no more fat food college student died haha), and excercise more.

Don't worry dear, everything will get better in time.
Just hold your head up high.

Hugs to everyone.

Just recently two girls, one a 7th grader, the other an 8th grader, were diagnosed with cancer. I don't know them, but everyone who does know them is really upset.
I can't imagine having to cope with watching someone die from cancer.

I'm so sorry.

Both of my mom's parents died of cancer and my aunt came down with lung cancer a while back. She got better, thankfully, but is smoking again.

Some people just never learn, do they? :sad2:
