I just had to work really hard to get a new reservation for may...i thought this was supposed to be a quieter time? i have always called about this far ahead for apr as soon as the reg season begins and had no problem getting an AAA rate, and then as it gets closer i usually get an AP rate. my 1st mistake was calling the 800 #. i got the 3rd degree when i asked for a room only reservation. he wanted to know how i got the #, what website etc:mad: he was not very nice. i said never mind i would call the wdw-disney # and he said no, he would help me:confused: anyway, he could not get me aaa on a csr or a po room for my 2 week stay in may, and was not happy when i said i wouldn't book at rack rate. so i got off the phone, called the other # and was able to split my stay between por and csr with an aaa rate. i have called the 800 # for dining with no problem, but i will not call it for room ressies again.
so...is it going to be extra busy this spring for some reason, or are they just offering less discounts? i'm still hoping to get a better rate when it gets closer:rolleyes: maybe i'm dreaming...

The first week in May is the start of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Disneyland and Walt Disney World is also celebrating with special events - so this is going to be a very busy time.

wow, thanks for the speedy reply Chrisp:D i was hoping this would be a quieter time, but hopefully the special events will make up for a few more crowds. does anyone know what the special events will be yet?
