I had to pull out the big guns last night.

I used something similar on the kids I coached in riding. We couldn't just send them home early.. parents PAY for those lessons and expect to get a full hour's worth of instruction. Considering that I got paid 12 bucks a kid and had 6 kids an hour, it's good money. The barn got 18 per kid per hour, by the way. At the barn, kids goofing off during lessons is not only disruptive, it's dangerous. If I have to threaten them with Santa not coming, so be it. All the parents were perfectly ok with it, one even told me that the little girl was getting a pony for Christmas, so I was to impress upon her the importance of behaving and paying attention.

For real? Seems like a lot of people 'round here need to have a stick removed.

Good for you, OP. I have used it on kids (OTHER THAN MY OWN!!!!!!), my son's teacher uses it with them, and my BFF (elem teacher) uses it as well.

I cannot believe people would be upset about this.

Good gravy. What is the world coming to?

Righteous!! When my kids are in someone else's care, I trust them to use their best judgment, not be afraid of offending everyone on the planet. If you're that afraid, best not to let them leave the house!!

A mom in our preschool class not only approves of us using the Santa card, she tells us exactly how to use it on her son! She said he wants a robot for Christmas and they mention it often at home to get him to behave. So one day, he was acting up at circletime so the teacher grabbed the phone and dialed. She said, "Hello Santa! I wanted to let you know that Charlie isn't behaving in class right now. Oh? You might bring him a robot? OK, I'll tell him." She hung up and told little Charlie that Santa know he wants a robot but won't bring it unless he listens to his teacher and his parents all the time. The kid was positive that she'd just talked to Santa. How else would she know he wanted a robot? We've had to do it a few times since. We tell the mom all about what we do and how he reacts and she's all for it. This boys has special needs so we have to use whatever creative teaching technique we can think of.

I told my students that I Have I Phone Santa Claus App. I that Santa Claus see directly in the classroom if cut on the App. That work good. They calm down real quick. :lmao::lmao:

I just got home from work. I had my group of 6 & 7 year-olds today. The girls were talking about Santa Claus, so I said " You know he's watching you right?". One of my six year-olds looks at me very seriously and says "I know, I am very worried, what about when I am in the tub?"

I almost fell over laughing.
