Yesterday was the first day in about 6 months that I ate at McDonald's and I have to tell you I really enjoyed the taste of my burger. However, after eating my burger and the Australian fries, I felt pretty yucky all day long. I guess my body just wasn't used to the greasy food anymore.

I think that our bodies do get used to what we eat and what we don't. I know that when I eat something that I haven't for a while and it is one of those unhealthy eats, I feel bad afterward. I try to use that as a sign that I really don't need it and will feel much better if I don't eat it again.

I also believe that our taste changes once we start eating healthy. I know that now I really look forward to my fresh fruits when in the past it was a chore for me to eat them.

Good luck if you try it again and if that's what you want, hopefully it won't make you feel bad next time.

I like the taste of McD's burger.... but it's just not worth it because I feel yucky all day long!

That's happened to me before too! I've switched to lighter salad dressings and I really had a craving for a Caesar salad the other day... I felt really gross afterwards. There was too much dressing, bacon bits etc... :( I think I'll have to ask for them to keep the dressing on the side next time.

Btw, what are Australian fries?

They are something new here, they are being offered in conjunction with an Australian burger. Basically they were potato wedges that were seasoned and deep fried.....they were quite yummy.

So you liked the taste, but your body didn't like having to process that food, eh? Well, at least you know now that you have adjusted very well to eating healthier foods! At least it tasted good, so you were able to get a little pleasure out of the experience. I don't think I've been to McDonald's at all this year. But if they ever bring back that Shamrock Shake I am in trouble!!!

Six months!! Yikes!! I am only at 5 weeks and yes, I KNOW it would make me sick!! And if I am gonna get sick I guess I'll save it for something special like a trip to The Varsity in Atlanta for a chili dog....or two. Man, tailgate season is gonna be hard this year.

Isn't it amazing how our body adkusts to what we eat. That grease will get you every time...it pays to eat healthy!!

Those Australian fries sound good!

Those sound good tiggerlover! We don't have anything like that here ... the newest item is the McGriddle breakfast sandwich. I don't like them that much, which is good, because they've got waaay too many points :p

I tried those McGriddles breakfast sandwiches last year in a test market area, and they were SOOOOOO good!!!

I couldn't wait to see if they'd be a success, and when I saw the banner on one of my local McDonald's, I was so happy....

Now (of course) I haven't had one since I started Atkins in late July...... but I'll be saving them for a special treat when I reach my goal....... if I reach my goal.

I can't even remember the last time I had a burger at McDonalds, but I love their new chicken salads, especially the chicken, bacon ranch salad and being on Atkins I can eat it without guilt.
