I used to feel like a Disney pro with the old fast pass system. I had it down to a science. Last visit was in 2014 and now I feel totally lost!! Planning a short trip for later this year (was supposed to be last summer). Thinking of 3 day park hoppers. One day at Disneyland, one day at California Adventure, and the 3rd day redoing our favorites in both parks. My daughter (19) and husband and both very into Star Wars and Marvel so going to those lands/rides will be top priority. What’s a good strategy? I know at Disney world you now book fast passes months in advance and wear bracelets. Does DL have that? Also as far as timing we could go the first week of August or sometime in October or November (early, not thanksgiving) Which would be the best choice? Thinking of flying Tuesday night and Sunday, giving us some combo of Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat in the parks. The 4th day will possibly be at Universal or maybe just sightseeing…

I’ll be going first week of August! We’d probably only cross paths on Saturday though as we’re doing Monday, Tuesday and Saturday in the park I’m thinking that’ll be the best time in the ramping up post reopening. More and more capacity will be added as time goes on. Neither wdw or DL is offering fast passes right now. So all rides are standby. With no mention yet of return to fast pass, that’s another reason to go earlier rather than later. If you check out wait times throughout the day, they’re not terrible except a couple of headliners like radiator springs racers.

for Star Wars rise of the resistance and Marvels Spider-Man web slingers ride, they do use a virtual boarding pass system that can only be entered twice a day. Both are at 7am and noon. For the 7am drop, you’re only eligible for the park where you have a park pass reservation. At noon, you can try for either, but you can only enter each one once per day and can’t enter a new one at noon if you got a boarding group at 7 and haven’t rode the ride yet.

for example: you have a park pass reservation for Disneyland, at 7am, you can try for a Rise of the Resistance boarding group. If you are successful and can ride before noon, you can then get ready at noon and try for a Web Slingers boarding group. If you were unsuccessful at 7am, you can try for either ride. I know you mentioned only actually hopping once, but getting that guaranteed ride can be a nice break if you were To get the second boarding group at noon for the other park.

Dining is also limited right now, but slowly getting better. If you like table service, it’s a good idea to get adrs before going, but sounds like some are still having luck getting day of reservations.

good luck! And happy planning!
