I had lunch today at Beaches and Cream the first time ever. When I woke up this morning, i made the spur of the moment decision to go to Epcot. Going to WDW is a great procarstination tactic from doing my homework(since I have a ton of assigments due by the end of this this month ). Yes, I should have stayed home and done my algebra homework, written the lesson plan that is due Tuesday that i have not even started, i should have been writing my research paper that is due Friday, etc, but school is burning me out..I needed a touch of pixie dust. So I was out the door to Epcot by nine o'clock this morning. A little over an hour later I arrived at Epcot. Anyway i entered Epcot and wandered around FW, taking in the Christmas decorations and atmosphere a while then discovered i was getting hungry and decidied to head over to Beaches and Cream for lunch. I figured they opened at 11:00 and figured getting there at opening it would not be crowded and i should be seated right away. I wandered over to the Beach Club Resort and over to Beaches and Cream. it was about 10:50 and it was not open yet, but there were already a few small groups of people waiting for it to open. So at promptly 11:am the reastaurant opened, and i was the second person seated.
I was handed the menu but had already decided i wanted to try one of the burgers that people rave about so much. So, that is what i ordered. And, my burger was the first burger cooked on the grill for today even lol. So ten minutes later when my burger and fruit arrived (i opted for the fruit instead of the fries). The burger arrives "dry" so you have to add your own mustard, ketchup, etc, but it does come with a dill pickle spear. and of course lettuce tomato and onion. So after puting the condiments on my burger i finally bit into it with much anticipation becasue i was starving! The burger was hot and fresh with grilled buns(i hate ungrilled buns), and it was very good, but i have to say, I have had better. I don't know, maybe becasue it was a thin patty(i like mine a but thicker and maybe becuse it was the first burger grilled of the day ( no grease build up yet) but I like the burgers at The Contemporary and The Plaza restaurant better. But it was good, just not what i expected after hearing people rave about the burgers here. But the expperience was fun. beaches and Cream has just 3 booths, 7 small tables and seating for 12 at the counter, so I am glad i went early. If you have not tried it, i recommend it. I did not have any ice cream, however but the ice cream selections looked amazing. All in all a great experience.
