I woke up in a cold sweat, gasping for air.

I dreamt that we drove down to FLA for our Cruise. (In September). We get to the Port, and I had my DH do his usuall thing of entertaining the kids while I waited in line to check in. I get up to the counter, and it is ONLY THEN do I realize, I did not bring the cruise docs! I didn't even have our birth certificates! Oh what a NIGHTMARE. I do not know how it ends, because I woke up just as we were scrambling to figure out how we could get back to Massachusetts, grabs the documents, and get back on the ship before 5:30PM. :confused3

Guess what I am going to protect with my life once they get here?

I HAD the EXACT same nightmare!! :rotfl:
When I woke up I packed my docs and certificate in a zipper pocket in our luggage! Oh my, so glad I didn't forget :bounce:

We leave tomorrow and since I can't sleep from excitement, I have checked for birth certificates and docs I know 10 times....I don't know what I would do if that ever really happened :confused3

Don't forget your picture ID too!!! Last year, when we were preparing for our cruise, I checked our documents and birth certificates a hundred times making sure everything was okay. The night before we were scheduled to leave for Florida, I lost my driver's license (I thought I had left it in a store at the mall, but they said they didn't have it)!!! The only other picture ID I had was my work ID...which does not have my legal first name on it! I was in a panic and called DCL first thing the next morning. The girl was sympathetic, but basically told me that I might not be allowed on the ship. Choking back tears (okay, I'll admit, I was crying my eyes out), I went out one more time to search my car and found my license slipped between the seats! I couldn't have been more ecstatic!

Don't you just love having "those" pre-cruise dreams, NOT!!! :rotfl2:

See, I havent had that dream yet but mine are usually more bizarre. Probably something similar to yours, but everyone would be naked. :rotfl:

I always have several nightmares before we leave! Think it's just being anxious and stressing about taking everything we need!

Last night I had a dream that my family all had their luggage, but they had left mine at home. The only thing they brought for me was my formal dress, no shoes or anything. The funny thing is I remember packing the dress in the suitcase, so they must have all hatched this sinister plan on purpose since they had to take it out to bring it. :rotfl:

I've had a very similar dream too. It must be a "disboard thing". You can bet I'll have those birth certificates and documents the day we leave. I'll be quadruple checking and asking DH to double check, if I know me. :goodvibes

159 days till we leave for our 30th Anniversary trip.

That nightmare alomost came true for me.

The night before we were to fly out, my daughter and I drove 5 hours to my parents house to fly out of Pittsburgh with my Mom (Girls trip)

After we arrived late that night I said I had everything, including my dd's birth certificate. Well, my Mom said, what about yours? Somehow in all my planning and reading the dis I had somehow missed the fact that I needed mine too. We went through a couple of differerent scenarios on how to get my bc to Florida in time (we were visiting MK for one day before the cruise.

Well, I got up at 4:30 am amd my husband ended up driving 2 1/2 hours to meet me in the middle to give me my BC. I made it back to my Mom's just in time to head to the airport.

On our April 2004 cruise, a man and woman with 3 children had lost one of their child's documents. It was really sad to witness. We overheard two DCL officials discussing that they had flew in that morning and must have left the documents home. They did make it on board however, because we saw them at a few of the meals.

No dream--but on America's Funniest Video's last night--they showed a clip of them loading luggage onto what I assume would be a cruise ship (water/port appearance would be the dead giveaway). They lifted the crate up--and it hit something and all the luggage fell out and into the water :earseek: . To me--not funny!

Inspires me to bring only carry-ons (if I can ever afford to get on a boat again ;)).

I thought i was the only one who did that :)

I think all of us have had that nightmare or something close to it!
I've had several variations of -missing the ship- not having docs-forgetting I was going to be crusing until the ship was 30 minutes from departing- dreams!

Yes, I had that very same nightmare before our cruise in April. Very, very scary! :)

Ok, here goes my psycho-analysis of the nightmare (probably not worth a wooden nickel). For people like us, who are compulsive planners, we are working out every little detail of the trip, we forget to plan for the basic necessities. I've done it on occassion however not so serious like cruise documents. One trip I had packed everything a person could possibily need..in three huge suitcases..for a three-day trip only...except I forgot my underwear.

On another trip we were going to drive ourselves to the airport and use park and ride. I was all organized and packed the night before with the suitcases at the door, so all we had to do was jump out of bed at 5 am and head to the airport. Get the luggage loaded in the car, all pile in the car..and I lost my car keys. I madly rushed into the house to find them, and they were no where to found. Thank goodness my mom had another set of car keys for my car, however, she was'nt too happy to be woken up at 5:30 in the morning.
