I've been doing my best to eat healthy... and really didn't want any white bread or a lot of sugar...

The chef made their famous french toast for me using the multi-grain bread they use in their luncheon sandwiches... it's loaded with sunflower seeds.
The bread was fantastic made as french toast...

I don't eat meat... so they rounded out my meal with some fresh fruit instead. And, to drink we had their Smoothie with yogurt and fruit... and loaded with healthy Omegas. Mmmm good...

IF you don't want to start your day with white bread ask them to use their sunflower seed bread when making the french toast... I'm going back in a few weeks to have it again!

Their "famous french toast" is their Tonga Toast. Did you have that, or regular french toast?

LOL! I think of all their breakfast choices as being "famous..." Sorry I wasn't very clear.

I had their REGULAR french toast... but made with their multi-grain sunflower seed bread - the same bread they use in some of their luncheon sandwiches.

I have been re-working my diet for the past few weeks and had cut out ALL white bread and simple sugars. Something is finally working as I've lost 3 lbs this past week (Yay!) I hated to throw a wrench in the healthy changes I'd made and Kona's had no healthy bread choices listed on the menu. I asked our waitress if they had any multi-grain or whole wheat choices in any of their entrees and she'd replied that they did not... She offered to let me talk to the chef which is what I elected to do... The chef offered toast made with the sunflower seed bread and I asked if he could use that bread to make french toast. He said no one had ever asked him to do that - but he didn't see why they couldn't. I was thrilled by how good the multi-grain french toast was and wanted to share the news in case someone else would also prefer a multi-grain option at Kona's. I'd love to see more heatlhy choices on their menu. Actually, I think it was the best french toast I've ever had. It was very satisfying... and I wasn't left feeling stuffed.

I know about the Tonga Toast. I've had it multiple times in the past... It was too sweet for me... and just too much food... (and made with white bread...) Different strokes for different folks.

Hope this clarifies...

That's such a simple and obvious request to make...I can't believe it's never occurred to me! I'll have to remember to ask both at Disney and elsewhere. I don't like being picky, but I have no problem with asking for multi-grain.
