. . . because I didn't even know until yesterday that my favorite universal ride of all time, Back To The Future, has been closed since 2007!! During our honeymoon in October 1996, my husband and I walked -- more like ran -- onto that ride over and over again at least 6 or 7 times, it was very low attendance time of year, no waiting lines, and we just loved it so much!

When we went back to Disney in 2005 with our 6 & 7-year-old daughters, we omitted Universal Studios entirely as we felt they were too young at the time. I figured we had plenty of time to experience it again in the future. Now we are headed back in June, and I have been talking up the BTTF ride to my girls for months! Telling them that ride alone was worth the price of admission to Universal Studios!

Well obviously times have changed and new technologies have emerged, but I don't care. I LOVED that ride and I am heartbroken it is gone, no matter how great anything else is (Simpsons? Can't picture it, never really watched the show) that has replaced it.

Right now I am dreaming of a deLorean that can take me and my family back in time to experience the BTTF ride once more with them!! So, so sad!!

Lol, yup it has been gone a long time. It was one of the biggest nausea inducers in the park but it is sad that there isn't more of a Back to the Future presence left.

Don't they still have the train from Back to the Future III?

BTTF was pretty awesome when it first opened. Unfortunately, it didn't age well, becoming very rough over the years. In fact, I started avoiding it because it was too rough. Although I was sad to see it go, its time was up IMO. And The Simpsons is a worthy replacement IMO too.

By the way, have you also heard that Jaws closed earlier this year.

The train is still there. Btw, kongfrontation is also gone, and so is hannah barbera

Oh, I forgot about Kongfrontation - we were lucky enough to ride it the year before it closed. Way cool! I loved how you got eye-to-eye with Kong and you could smell bananas.......

Of course, Revenge of the Mummy is pretty neat itself.:thumbsup2 But there's something about those "old-fashioned" rides. Sort of like you can never compare a wooden roller coaster to a steel one.

Yes, I miss the BTTF ride as well. We just returned from Universal, and the Delorean, train and Doc are still there. Doc was riding around on his bike.

I never got to ride BTTF, but I did ride SImpsons and LOVED it , and I am not a fan of the show.DH has had the privelage of riding BTTF and Simpsons and he liked Simpsons much more, and again not a fan of the show.Give Simpsons a chance!

I totally miss Kongfrontation and Back to the Future. Luckily my kids got to experience both.

Kong was just a really cool experience. The details were amazing. One of my favorite pictures is of me and my sister doing the photo op with the big kong head and fist!

I do wish they kept some of the old school rides at Universal. I am also glad I got to ride Jaws one more time before it closed.

Yes, it became old and too rough for most guests, and thus The Simpsons Ride was born. Ever since they closed Jaws in January (), E.T. is the only survivor of opening day attractions.

BTTF was fun but it was too painful for me to ride because of the ride vehicle. The Simpsons is the same way so other than the Passholder Preview a few years ago, I haven't ridden The Simpsons again.

Kongfrontation was a great attraction but ROTM is better...IMHO. I wish there was room for both. I think Kong will return to the Studios in some form or fashion but who knows?

We havent been to Universal since 2008 -and we were gutted that Kong had gone along with BTTF. Simpsons had just opened and we had to child swap so queuing was a nightmare, coupled with the ride being out of sync with the picture it was a huge let down. We are going back this trip but now that there is no Jaws I am seriously starting to wonder why we are boing :confused3
