I Gotta Feeling- that this trip's gonna be a good trip

Well, folks, as you hopefully know by now. I live in Texas. South Texas, to be exact. So, on the rare occurrence that we DO get snow, it is a huge deal. It was predicted that we would get from 1-3 inches of school and they shut down the schools! Well, as you can see, the forecast was very much wrong!

We were very upset. I woke up when my dad got up early at 5:00am to leave for work and expected to see a big white blanket of snow coating our yard. Well, not only were we mad that we didn't have something fun to play with, but the roads were icy, too. So, we were cooped up inside all day on this dreary, dreary day. Grrrr! Well, our biggest problem, though, concerns our trip. I have had quite a few absences in school this year and I can't afford to miss any more. Well, we will probably have to make up this school day that we missed. And, if they take a day from our Spring Break, then we won't be able to leave on the dates that we planned too! So sad! So, as of now, we are hoping that either we won't have to make it up at all, or it won't be during Spring Break. Well, I have practice standardized tests tomorrow, so I'm gonna go and get a good night's sleep. Sorry that this was so short, but...yawn...I'm tired.

Okay guys, I'm back!

This weekend, I have been participating in a church event called Journey. It is where someone opens up there home for 8 kids to come and stay for 2 nights.So, I was at a home with other 7th grade girls like me. I was fortunate enough to know the girls in my host home, but I didn't know the actual hosts of the home. Each group also had one college leader with them. She was kind of like our bible study teacher throughout the weekend. I had a great time, but I am exhausted. On Saturday, some of us went down to Downtown Houston and refurbished a baseball park for inner city kids. It was really cool to know that we had made some kids' lives better, but it was very tiring. Here are a few pictures that we took throughout the weekend.

We ate at McDonald's on Saturday, and I had some fun with barbies. Mwahahahaha!

Yesterday, when I was packing up to come home, I was loading up my sleeping bag, and guess who was on it? BARBIE! My friends all think that she wants revenge. I'm gonna have nightmares of Death to Barbie for months to come. Ahhhhh!
Well, after we ate a very disturbing lunch, we headed over to the ball fields.

After that, we had some time to spare, so we headed over to a nearby park and had loads of fun.

So, all in all, it was a weekend that I won't ever forget. Also, we have reached our 17 day mark!!!!! We are getting so close! Oh, and another thing! The make-up snow day is going to be on Good Friday instead of Spring Break. I'm sad we have to give a Friday away to school, but at least it won't delay our Disney Departure! Yippee!
