Hi all had my interview at the Disney Store today. They hired me on the spot.:cool1: I know there owned by (TCP) now, but still am excited, they said it was a seasonal position, but I am hoping they keep me after that. I am just looking forward to working there. It will be a nice change to be out and about and not behind a desk.

Not sure what the discounts are yet. Will find those out soon. Will let you know. I am just so thrilled to be leaving my current job. It just made my day to get the job.

How fun! I worked there years ago and they had some great perks. I'm sure they've changed since then. Do you know what they are?

As a seasonal CM there, you will get a 30% discount on the store merchandise there and at The Children's Place stores.

If you are kept on as a part timer after the holiday season ends (usually 2nd week in Jan for them), you will also get 3 1-day park hoppers for DL or WDW. They need to be requested 30 days out and must be picked up in person and used by Dec 31 of that year.

CONGRATS! I really enjoyed my 3+ year stint at The Disney Store.

Congrats! I spent six years with them.

Kimya gave you all the perks. Careful, you'll want to spend a chunk of that pay check right back in the store! :teeth:

Thanks everyone, I am really excited (little nervous as it is seasonal, so I won't know if I am there after Christmas, anyone know if they keep seasonal employees after christmas), ugh just have to do my best and make them happy and hopefully they will want me to stay. At least I have a job over the holidays that I will enjoy doing.

I started working for the Disney store as a seasonal employee and was kept on after the holidays ended. I loved it. Unfortunately it was a 35 minute drive to get there so I had to give it up after 1 1/2 years. It was also the only negative income job I ever had. :rotfl: I always spent more than I ever brought home. I sure do miss those deals though.

Congratulations, you will have lots of fun.

Thanks for the info, like you I am sure I will end up spending my entire check there lol. Now do you remember if they asked you if you wanted to stay or did they keep all their seasonal help. The manager told me it depends on sales, and your job performance etc. I am just wondering because I left a job to take the Disney Job, and they know I did this. I just guess I am nervous that come January I will be back on here crying that I am out of work. Oh well too late to turn back now, I'll just have to hope for the best and have all my dis-buddies send me some pixie dust.

I started as a seasonal, my first day working was the day before Thanksgiving, and I was kept on after Christmas. I think it helped that some guests make positive comments about me to the Manager.
I hope you enjoy your new job!

hmm not a bad idea, how can you get a guest to comment about you. Or should I have friends make the comment lol. Of course I am going to do the best I can with the guests but as you know sometimes people don't give comments when comments are due (usually when there negative). Thanks for the advice, any more keep it coming. Thanks everyone.

Just do a stellar job while at work, don't have attendance/tardy problems, and don't have costume problems. If you work out well, they will likely keep you. We never kept all of our seasonals and usually made the distinction by job performance, attendance, and costume.

Thanks for the advice. I plan on being a great employee, I am always on time (actually always early), and I am very flexible with my schedule which they were happy with. I just hope they notice when I am doing a good job (my old boss never did). Thanks

I let the manager know I was interested in staying on if she wanted to keep me.
