I just received an email about a Fall special. We can go for $1,186 for 6 days 5 nights. at a Value resort. 6 days park pass. That is 1 park per day no hopping and no plus options. It also includes the dining package. Also transfers from airport and the picture package. Where you veiw your pictures when you return. Now you can upgrade to Mod and Deluxes. (For a charge). Well I could not believe it. I didn't so I called and she said yes it was true. They just sent them out this week. This was the nicest CM she was great and had all the answers to my questions. It is $1,501 to upgrade to Mods. For the same stuff as above. Now here is the part you all will FLAME me. I have never stay but at the Deluxes. So I am not sure what to do. The value resort I would go to ASMu or Pop. The mods I would to POP riverside or FQ. The differances is $315 for value to mod. Would it be worth the upgrade or stay at the value. Since we can't park we would go to the parks in the morning and come back in afternoon swim and go back to the park later in day. My kids are fish and they love to swim. I think they would love POR they have waterslide there but at value there are pools only. But you can add Plus feature to the package its $ 161 for 4 plus features. So we would not need to worry about waterslides at the Value resort. I am so confused I don't know what to do. I do know I am going to Disney in Sept. Now I just have to decide where. Any help in appriciated. I will be posting other post on resort choices. So you will see alot of me the next few days. Thanks alot Brenda

I've only stayed at deluxes also but I'm always wanting to try POR. I would go with POR. It looks like a great pool and there are so many things to do there. River Roost Lounge - Bob Jackson, carriage rides, surrey bike rentals, fishing hole, even a campfire program I hear.

I really want to try POR for at least part of our trip next year. Plus with the AP discount those $99 rates sure are calling me!

I'm telling you, WE LOVE POP! We are upgrading to WL this year, but were actually hesitant to do so with our code because we LOVED POP so much. Our kids absolutely loved the zero entry kiddie pool, the theming was awesome, it has an outstanding food court/gift shop, the rooms are great, and we thought transportation was incredible, never waited longer than 10 minutes for buses, and usually they were there in 2-5 minutes. I would say "jump on it" and do POP!

I would also stay at POR if you are going to be there that many days. They have a great main pool, but also 5 (?) other pools if that one is too crowded for you. As mentioned in the previous post, there are also other things to do around the resort.

On the other hand...the waterparks are a lot of fun and a cheaper alternative than upgrading your resort.

POR is my favorite resort. I have stayed all the deluxe resorts, they are nice but with kids we need the food court at the moderate and value resorts. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the ASMu last summer, but we only had 2 in the room.

Didn't really help did I?

POFQ has no onsite restaurant if that is important to you. POR seems to have a lot of deluxe type features only with smaller rooms and a bit further out. My kids loved the pool, pool slide, and hot tub there and we had no trouble coming back to swim. Hope that helps! The pools are themed more nicely and have slides as opposed to the values.

I didn't receive that email but you can get the package on the deluxe resorts too & add on park hopping.

Was there a pin code with this or is it a general special?

Thats the deal I'm looking for! When did you get this and from who/what where? We're looking to go in early September.

What are the dates for this? I have been waiting for such a deal. I have enjoyed stays at the values, moderates and deluxe.

Can you let us know the terms of this offer? Was there a pin #, or can anyone get this deal? What are the dates? I am planning a trip in November.
Thanks!!

Why should someone flame you because all you have ever stayed at is a deluxe?

One should stay where one is comfortable and with what fits into your vacation plans.

This trip for you, it is either a value or a moderate that fits into your plans.

To determine where to stay means what ammenities do you want and is the price difference worth it to you.

The values have fine themeing, but smaller rooms, no pool slides, food court, no bell services, no room service, etc. That does not make them out to be bad, but a way to make Disney afordable to a lower budget.

The Moderates offer a few more ammenities for a few more dollars.

What are you going to be doing while there? A lot of park and little resort?, equal time between resort and parks?

IMHO if you are going to be spending a lot of time at the parks, go with the value. Save the money spent on the moderate for a special treat. If pool time and resort relaxation time is high on the priority list, stay at the Moderate. With the enhanced pools, sit down restaurant, bigger rooms etc. You will enjoy the resort much more.

I have not been to POR except to visit, but there many more things to do there that POP does not offer.

NOt the OP

but a few people mentioned recently getting this offer, it is an email or postcard rate and only applies to those targeted, it is not a general public code

It came as an email. It does have a pin number. The only way someone else can go is if I go and add them to my ressie. I am hoping my mom and dad will go. So when I called I asked how they could go and she said I would have to add them to my ressies and pay for it on my credit card or check. I asked how people get these emails. She said they target a certain area or state and also your childrens ages. My kids are 7 and 9. They will be 8 and 10 in Oct. Maybe they figured I might go this year before the oldest turns 10 and she will be regular price. Which changes alot of plans in the future as far as my budget.

Cranbiz. This is were I need help. The passes are 1 day only tickets no hoppingfor 6 days. So at the budgets I think we would probably upgrade to a plus pass which is $155 for 4 plus features. Then we will spend more tme at the parks and waterparks. If we upgrade to a mod resort it is $315. We would probably do the POR riverside. Then we would have pool slides so we would not do the plus passes to do the water parks. This trip was not a plan till I got this email so I am trying to make it work. But my kids love to swim and I am afraid the pools at the budgets will not be enough. I know my kids are spoiled we have a pool so they really like the waterslides since we don't have one. I am not so much worried about the rooms. I can stay anywhere I just love being on vacation and being in a hotel. We have stayed on the beach in a 4 bedroom 4 bath house and also stayed at a Motel 8 on the road. I love them both. I like hotels. Anyway my concern is to swim swim swim. And we went 2 years ago in Sept and it was 93 all week. I found we came back to the Poly or went to BB everyday when the parks got to hot.

When I got this email it was offering the Dining package for free. The rooms and the park passes are regular price you just get the dining package for free. I have talked to a few people they were happy with the dining package. They said there was more food than they could eat, but felt it was well worth the money.

Thanks all for the help. Brenda

What about CSR?
I would think that if you are planning on the swimming aspect for a hotel room that I would look at CSR, It has a wonderful water slide that your kids would enjoy!

Personally if I got that e-mail I would be jumping all over it.. Luckey You!! :cool1:

Upgrading your one-park tickets to hoppers costs only $35 plus 6.5% tax per person - no matter how many days are on your passes.

NANCYIL Thanks for the info. That might be do able

Mommic2 I was thinking about that also. I am worried about the convention center. It might be a little crazy. Unless we could find out before we go if there is a full house due to a convention. Also there has been a few bad post. ( I know there always will be no matter what resort you stay at. ) I think I will research the POR then research the CSR. I can only do one at a time. Thanks for all the info. Brenda

Hey -- MY kids are 7 and 9 too! Maybe that was the trick this time, although DD9 will be 10 by trip time :teeth: . We booked pop century for 7days / 6 nights in august with 7day MYW with Hopper and dining for $1478. I got the email last week and almost deleted it since we didn't have plans to go to WDW until Dec 2007. I'm glad I didn't. DH just closed a big deal and today mentioned that I have vacation in August -- "we should go to Disney. Do you think you can do it for under $3K?" I pulled up the email, made a phone call and have a disney trip to look forward to now!
