Just want to share my happy story.....

We had our recent girls trips to AKV Kidani in a dedicated 2br. It was perfet, until the baby and myself got sick close to our check out day. The day of the 9th I called the front desk asking if we could do a late check out as our flight wasn't until evening and both myself and baby is sick. The cast member said we never do this as it's points based (which I knew was a long shot) I told him I'll take anything a studio just somewhere to rest until our flight. He put me on hold and came back and said we can give a 1br until you need to leave. Let me tell you this was the highlight of my trip!!! It was myself, 7month baby and my 17 yo niece who flying out on the same flight the other girls had different flights. I was to the point of cancelling our flight d/t not feeling well and stressing traveling with an infant I couldn't walk and was coughing up a lung. At 11am moved to the new room and slept until 3pm I felt better enough to be able to get on the 6 hour flight home. I called the front desk to let them know we were leaving the room and they had no idea we were in that room??? But thanked them for letting us use the room she said have a magical day and I told her I just did!!!

I am glad that you are feeling better. The CM's at the resorts tend to help out when they can but on several occasions the DVC policies seem to create a not so magical experience. We have had problems with our room and we were told that we would be moved until the Front Desk noticed that we were staying on points. They said that since we were DVC Members, there was nothing that they could do.

In your case it sounds like they gave you an empty room and didn't even contact the DVC.

We were checked out, but used the spa area to change to go swimming. There was a torrential rain and things overflowed in the spa. The wonderful CMs at SSR found a 1 bedroom for us to shower, change in.

This was in August. I have been very pleased with the service I've gotten when things go "wrong."

Yes, were getting better been back for a week now and spent about 5 days in bed coughing. Have been hearing that is bug is all over the place getting people sick, just hope it doesn't come back for round 2!
